It has nothing to do with who was guarding him. He was repeatedly getting the ball to Oden. He was finding the hot man. He was orchestrating the offense. He would've done that no matter who was guarding him. It's not like he suddenly can't get the ball to Oden because Deron Williams is guarding him.
Coming from me, someone who sometimes gets frustrated with what's taking place with the team and lets out a pants-shitting post.... I still don't understand how someone can come post in every single game day thread and cry about people's feelings of Blake. I've never seen someone more on anyone else's jock. Every single game. Oh, and SHAZAM MARTELL!
How do we know Blake hasn't been asked every night to be PG? How do we know that this isn't just an aberration and Blake is able to take control against weak Minny?
We know that from watching the games. At least I do. He ran the offense. He wasn't just camping out in the corner, having Miller or Roy run it.
Wow. I had to go and check how many people I had on ignore. There are a ton of posts from a single poster. It looked like one poster was having a conversation by himself, but posting it through a message board.
Um, so you'll watch a lot of replays of this game and then you'll feel like Blake does this every night? Cuz while Blake has looked pretty good tonight, he sure doesn't look like this every night.
Nate noticed exactly what I said earlier. Miller and Roy did not play together one minute in the 2nd half. We had a great half-court unit and a great fast break unit. Small sample size or not, it seems like my suspicions were noticed by the coaching staff as well, at least in this game. This team, using it's current half-court philosophy - works better with Roy having the court spacing good with 2 wing shooters - and Miller really thrives as the leading PG of a fast-pace unit.
If only the Blazers played Minny 82 times - Martell would be an all Star. We know he's not going to do this every night, but he doesn't need to. If he could just give the team half of what he's doing tonight on a regular basis it would be huge.
What foul rule is Nate using tonight that is keeping Oden on the bench for almost the entire 2nd half? Johnny Flynn is going to be a good player in this league. He dominates the ball a bit much, but that's to be expected considering the scrubs Minne has.
Uh, I think you ignore the truth. Few GM's or coaches believe Blake is a starting PG. I like Blake, I really do, but as a backup. Nearly every poster on this board believes Blake should be a backup. KP believes it, or he wouldn't have signed Miller. McMillan must believe it, or he wouldn't have pushed for Miller. And again, I ask, how do you know he hadn't been asked to be a PG before? He was a lot of last year. Some games he looks good, some he doesn't. Tonight he looked good.
