Have you actually seen Ball shoot? His release point is comically low, almost from his hip. Any NBA defender, of any size, is going to block that shot with ease. Even if he can shoot 100% from three-point range with it, it won't work at the NBA level. That's why it has to be completely retooled. There's absolutely no way to know whether his new shot will be any good. And Livingston has always been prone to injury (not even counting his catastrophic knee injury). He's good as a limited-minutes reserve, but he's not suited to be a big-minutes star. Presumably Ball is expected to be a big-minutes star. Having a poor NBA body isn't, by itself, a deal-breaker for playing in the NBA, but it certainly ups the risks.
Why are we wasting time on this nonsense? Even if we drug Phil Jackson and convince him to make this trade, we'd then need, not just LAL to pass on Ball, but also 4 other teams (PHI, PHO, SAC and ORL) who all desperately need a PG to also pass on Ball. Yeah, his dad is a loud mouth dumb ass, but no way in hell do all those teams that need a PG pass on the kid that everyone has going No. 2 in all the mock drafts. BNM
I couldn't find a jumper of Marion, so I went with free throw because his free throw and jumper were the same form. Both are atrocious. I think vs the better pick and roll defenders Ball will get his shot blocked from behind quite often if he doesn't change his form.
The comment section over at BlazersEdge is comical. These dudes still think Anunoby is 6'10 with a 7'6.25 wingspan, as if he hadn't just been at the combine. These dudes are advocating for Thornwell at 26. That's why I post here. RC2 > BlazersEdge
Can't see Thornwell at 26, but would sure like to see him get a shot somehow. Reminds me of Wes Matthews draft. Could be a steal in the second round.
Personally not a big fan. Kid has great court vision but not great athlete and I hate his shot I don't care what percentage he shot in college doesn't translate to pro. I'd take him around 8 and be happy but sure wouldn't take him top 3 sorry just my take on him. I personally think Jackson will be the stud in this draft
