I guess the early part just skipped right by you....you've probably never seen Barkley since he was fat in Houston....go figure...undersized rebounding freak Barkley was...

If he lives up to being even half the player that Barkley was, I'll be ecstatic.

Isn't it funny how our #26 pick is playing like a #10 pick, and our #10 pick is playing like a #26 pick?

I think Swanigan is going to have a far easier time adjusting to this league than Collins.

barkley's rookie year, the sixers still had Dr J and Malone. barkley was not ball dominate then. but grabbing the rebound and leading the break is very reminiscent of a "young"/rookie barkley

Any other first ballot Hall of Famers we can compare Swanigan to? Maybe a shorter Shaq? A better rebounding Magic?

I guess it all cancels out in the end. We have the ridiculously positive Swanigan comparisons to balance out the ridiculously negative Collins overreactions.

you are old enough to remember barkley grabbing a board and taking it all the way to the hole yeah? that was what I found similar.

    Duh.
Collins is a cross between a tall Felton, a skinnier Meyers, and a skinny Boumtje Boumtje.

Swanigan is a taller, better Draymond mixed with Lebron, ZBO, Kevin Love, and Jordan.

I find it so entertaining in less than 3 weeks s2's opinion of Swanigan has changed drastically.

Thank you s2 for the smile.

"To me, Biggie looks like what you'd get if you combined Charles Barkley, Hakeem Olajuwon and probably Chris Webber.

He is all things to all people."
minsteral's post might just be a little over the top however

Not mine. If he can't play perimeter D then he's all but useless in todays NBA.

    Love his game though

I remember Shaq doing the same thing, but I'm not going to compare Swanigan to a young Shaq.

I agree with you that I want to see what he does against top tier NBA talent.
Cause he's more than held his own in limited opportunities against Tatum, and perimeter SL guards.

I don't see why people are so down on Collins. Kid is going to be very good I could care less how his offense looked I expected it. I love his defense and you can see everything's there just needs a little time. While Swanigan is going to be good Collins ceiling is way higher. Good draft with the potential to be great draft picks!

I'm not necessarily down on him. I can see the potential. I just think we're in for a long haul.

I'm not down on the guy, but I'm just weary of him after our experiences with Leonard. No, I'm not comparing the two players, but how stiff he plays reminds me a little of Meyers.

In other words, he's very raw. Now, of course he would be; he's a rookie and only played one year of college ball. But it's precisely that which I am weary about.

If he turns out to be great, or even just good or at least solid, then I'll be pleased with that. But for now, I'm just weary of the kid.

    Stats...

Even after missing 3 quarters of the last game, Collins is tied for 9th in BPG (tied for 6th among players who've played 3 games or more).

    Swanigan is 2nd in RPG.

No, it did not, that's what made your comment even more off-base. Barkley was a total freak.
