They better get the dead wings or the crappy pens in the first round. I hate to see them play Boston. Gonna be a 7 game series. Book it.

BTW...take a look at Yandle recently, he has been playing really well. Another point tonight, 9 points in his last 9 games. Up to a + 9 with the Rangers. Played nearly 26 minutes tonight. Finding his game. Keep shooting and the PP will get better also. Exciting stuff.

Not the same team that played Tampa earlier in the year. Remember the same shit was said that this team couldn't beat the Icelanders... Well how that work out.

I swear to god this board has found more ways to make possibly one of the best regular season in our life time into a bitch feast.

We apparently can't beat bigger teams, our pp will never or has ever scored, never won a face off, tanner glass is useless, Boyle should retire, talbot shouldn't handle the puck and leaves too many rebounds....

    Have I forgotten anything

All I can say is that if this team is as flawed as some here make it out to be, every other team in the league must absolutely SUCK.

Second most points in Rangers history and still more games to play. Enjoy it and stop ruining it for the rest of us.

It really is just a select few that find dumb shit to complain about (Step, 94, strudwick). The rest of the posters on here are totally enjoying the ride as near as I can tell. I was thinking towards the end of the 3rd tonight that it had been a while since the Rangers scored w/ the goalie pulled...what a great finish to the game for Stepan. Speaking of great finishes...awesome game on NHL network right now between the Kings and Canucks...

You can book that today's postseason doom and gloom posters were saying this team sucked and would have trouble making the playoffs during preseason. Despite injuries to key players and the insertion of 3 inexperienced players into regular roster spots (4 when you count Cam) this Rangers team may post the highest point total in franchise history but still the doubting Thomases don't believe. I agree with your post Al, this has been a remarkable season of enjoyable hockey to watch.

The same idiots which raved about the team in 1992 which won the Presidents trophy watched the team get bitch slapped by the Penguins in the second round. The fact remains that this team doesn't matchup against bigger teams well. Especially those teams which are good on faceoffs. It remains to be seen what they do in the playoffs. The playoffs is another season. It's incredible how stupid some posters are here getting their peckers all excited over regular season results. Means NOTHING. Last year should have shown you that because neither the Kings or Rangers were expected to get to the finals. Regular season was very impressive. MEANS NOTHING. All it means is they get home ice advantage. That's it.

I hate the presidents trophy ... Just one BIG bulls-eye on your back.

That being said, Columbus played like any team the Rangers will be facing in the playoffs. Hard, physical and they went to the net. True, they aren't the Bruins, but they are games the Rangers can use to prepare for the eventual showdown. And I think it's coming.

Here's my take. The posters like 94, and strud, and Step, and dump, and cage all have their good points. The playoffs are not the regular season. The Pres trophy doesn't mean much (I have been saying that for weeks). The Rangers do get pinned in their zone too often. The Rangers do get sloppy with the puck in their zone too often. The best way to beat the Rangers is with physical play and size. Those comments aren't crazy or way off. They have merit for sure. These posters are 100% entitled to have those opinions and discuss them.

My comment is we get all that. Yeah this team has some flaws...ALL teams have flaws (you show me the perfect team this season). I don't think anyone is sitting in here saying this team is perfect or we cannot be beat. So we get it. Every game thread turns into a knocking session. That is what makes me laugh. Complain and whine about this and that every single game. Mention oh size we cannot handle it game after game. I just don't see the upside of that. If an outsider came in here and read the game threads no doubt they would think we were a lower level team if they stopped reading before the final result.

Enjoy the ride. Know that the playoffs will NOT be easy, they NEVER are in the NHL. We are going to play some long series. We will look bad some games. Lose some games where you say WTF. And guess what...we may lose round 1 or round 2...it CAN happen in the NHL playoffs. All very possible. But, as I have been saying, all you can do is put your team in he best situation possible heading into the playoffs, with the most talented roster as possible, and then it will be what it will be...and that is EXACTLY what we have done.

I MUCH rather play the Pens or Wings round 1...but if we get Boston so be it. If we lose to Boston in round 1 we were not winning the cup anyway. We were not as good as some think. I am not going to be all afraid to play Boston NOT because I think we cannot lose or I want to play them, but because if we are the # 1 team in the NHL, and as good as many think, we NEED to beat Boston. And if we don't this becomes a huge downer of a season.

That's reality guys. We all know it. No need to be negative every game thread or say the playoffs are not the regular season or big teams we cannot play with. We all know it will not be easy, and in the NHL playoffs ANYTHING can happen. Just look at us in the SCF last season and the Kings winning the cup as an 8 seed a few seasons back over the 6 seeded Devs. We know how the NHL playoffs work. Might as well enjoy the ride.

The only thing that really gets me is people knocking Girardi and Staal. And after 3, 4, 5 games people knocking Yandle. That is the truly crazy stuff to me...:).

Last season the Rangers lacked the size to deal with the Kings, this year they are bigger and can stand up to the big physical teams. It's just a question of will they ... I love the playoffs :deadhorse:

I'm sorry I started the President's Trophy thread on this board.
At the time I posted it, I never thought they would actually
be within 2 pts. of getting it. It was just the idea that they
could. Being the New York Rangers and in their position,
teams will always be up for them.

And that is good for the Rangers.
