^^^ The point of that exercise is that the season is a marathon, not a sprint. Stick with the guy doing the +7.9 and you have a better chance to win (even win close games, or games like NJ).
FWIW Bogans http://www.82games.com/1011/10CHI5.HTM offense, pts per 100 poss. = 108.3 on court, 106.5 off court, net 1.8 (good) defense, pts per 100 poss. = 104.2 on court, 98.7 off court, net -3.7 (bad) Net points per 100 poss = +4.1 on court, +7.8 off court, -3.7 net (bad) The +7.8 off court is as big a drag on the team's chances as Boozer's +7.9 on court.
Rose's net is +5.7 LeBron's is +6.5 Wade's is +8.1 (strong case Wade is more valuable than LeBron, IMO) Rondo +6 Garnett +16.2 (WOW) Ginobili +10.1 Duncan +1.5
Boozer got outboarded by Nocioni of all people tonight for the critical rebound that sealed the game.
As usual Denny, you are completely missing the point. Bogans is paid a couple of million bucks to basically be a stop gap and not fuck it up for 10-15 minutes a night. Boozer is being paid $75 million to be an all-star caliber performer on both ends of the court. It's that simple. If Boozer isn't getting it done the coach has to do whatever it takes to get the message through.
I absolutely hear you. I think we underestimate how difficult it is to produce consistently when your starting shooting guard doesn't contribute anything on offense, and gets lit up on defense. Enough already. Korver has had a stretch of bad games, and needs something to get him going. Brewer is playing good ball and deserves more minutes. There's no reason to give Bogans any minutes (any) unless it's a blowout.
If getting utterly demolished by Kris Humphries isn't going to get a message across, Thibs certainly isn't going to do one with a benching.
