The bottom line is that I presented fact and Antoine's fan club is just presenting opinions. That schedule was weak. Would we have gone 11/12? Maybe not. Would we have won the Atlantic? Yes. It's funny how there was this supposed "spark" that went through the team when Walker came, wouldn't that spark light a fire that would keep getting better and better with time? Nope. We got worse with each game that we had Antoine. How can you explain that? Magic? No. Reality? Yes. The team played so well during that period because it was playing bad teams. It's really simple if you think about it. And when we beat an opponent that was respectable, it was the likes of Paul Pierce and Mark Blount leading the team to victories. And is Gary Payton one of the greatest point guards of all time? Yes. Is he old and slow now? Yes. Can he play a lick of defense anymore? No. Why is it that he hasn't found a team yet when the free agent market is so short on point guards? Isn't he one of the best ever? And to the team chemistry point, don't you think the fact that they were winning games contributed to that more than the addition of Antoine? It sure is easy to have a good time when your team's schedule is so easy and you keep winning games against easy opponents.

the bottom line is antoine came back and gave that team energy and brought team chemistry into the locker room if antoine didn't come bak we wouldn't have won 11 0f 12 there is no way and i dont think we would have won the division antoine is one of the main reasons y we won the atlantice division and that 11 of 12 if it wasn't for antoine we would have been worse then wut we came out 2 b

Look, regardless of what the Antoine Walker compulsive hatred club over here thinks, the fact is that its all just opinions about whether they would have won the atlantic or not. they played PLENTY of terrible teams in the first half plus of the regular season and were barely a contender for the division crown or the playoffs. Its funny to me that theyre saying that the idea that antoine added a "spark" to the team is just "opinions" when theres NO PROOF that they would have won the division without him and plenty of proof that they were worse untill they got him? Obviously they didnt become a championship caliber team once they got him but they did get good enough to stomp on some bad teams (including the phoenix suns who proved that despite the pressence of AMARE, MARION, and Q-RICH they were a terrrrible team in their significantly enormous sampling of 7 games without steve nash>) who they might have beaten some of before but would not have beaten all and may well have (gasp) not won the atlantic division!

Well to be fair I do agree with this guys that 11 games seems like a pessimistic estimate at how much worse the celtics will be. Antoine did give the team a boost which you would think people cant deny, but i also believe in pierce and ricky and as long as some of the young kids get better and not worse (and maybe if one or two of the rookies proves as helpful as the kids last year did) than it should be enough to get them a low seeded playoff spot and at least a whif of a shot at the division crown.

I'm not sure where you got the impression that I thought they would succeed without him. I actually said that they shouldn't have won that many games with or without him. I stated that were a streaky team that never should have won as many games as it did. Sure, that may be vague and ultimately unsupported, but nowhere did I present that as fact either. And yes it does break the rules, and please don't do it again.
Look, we can agree to disagree on this one. There's no reason to get childish. This issue has nothing to do with basketball IQ, and since we aren't all playing basketball right now, a basketball IQ isn't needed. If we can't continue the discussion in a mature manner, then there will no longer be a discussion. Make your points, but don't attack other people. It's called intelligent discussion - and that's what we do here.

Wins and losses really aren't going to be what next season is about, just how we piece things together. They will still be fun team to watch, probably more so, and we will get to see some of the finest talent available in last year's draft on display in our own home arena. And I don't know about you, but that gets me pretty eager about this coming year.

Whether class evades you or not is hardly my issue, I just wanted to talk some C's. And getting the last word isn't necessary, I already conceded that to whoever wanted it. And at the very least about the court, not eachother.
