Scola is a legitimate starter, though, so there's a bit of "Yeah, adding a good starter as a backup WOULD strengthen Portland!" Chris Bosh would also make a nice backup. I mean, I'd love Paul Milsap as a backup to Aldridge, but the way he's played, he's clearly a good starting caliber player and I don't think there's anyway he accepts a backup spot next year.
no but channing frye isn't that good and he doesn't do alot of the little things that a guy like scola does. he's a classic laimbeer type, that gets under your skin when he's playing against your team but every team good team needs a guy like that. that's one of the things we are missing although joel may be rounding into that guy.
Stats aren't everything. Taking away Yao means that the other Rockets have open shots. You don't have to put up points to be really effective.
Rockets have won games without Yao this season. In fact, they blew out the Hornets in New Orleans without him.
because it seems you throw out these stats and think that they tell the entire story for you, they don't. it's was painfully obvious that yao commanded our entire defensive attention and that allowed guys like scola/landry/brooks kill us at different parts of the series.
but if it was one isolated incident than it holds true for every instance. jjack is better than harris...right?
