We all know that Kevin Martin collected $1000 from Mikki Moore for (not) dunking on Oden, and now it turns out that Ricky Davis offered $500 to Gordon, Jordan, and Thornton if any of them could (not) dunk on Oden. I'm sure this happens all of the time, but how incredibly stupid of them to make this public. Plus, Martin should give his grand back to Moore, because he didn't dunk on Oden, he merely dunked ahead of a moving Oden.
It's a sign of respect to be sure, but it's also really stupid to motivate Oden anymore than he already is. I'd be pissed if Oden played for another team, and someone on my team issued such a "bounty." I wouldn't want GO pissed/motivated to play against my team.
If I'm Roy I tell him I'll give him 500 for the first time he tosses an all-star into the seventh row.
I think Oden should get a cut of the proceeds. If you dunk on him - he should get a cut. If you bet someone can't dunk on him and win - he should get a cut. It's a win - win - win situation. (Win of he gets dunked on, win if he does not get dunked on and the Blazers are going to win the game (which is a given). Win - win - win!
Today on PTI Wilbon said that Ricky davis was teh dumbest player in the NBA. He said it doesn't matter about all these bets because Gred Oden won't be able to hear all the laughs because of the ringing of championship rings in his ear all the time.
I think it will end the first time someone gets sent to the floor when attempting to Posterize Oden. That will happen within the first 2 months of the season.

Oden should do a bodyshot at the next guy who tries it, even if he gets a flagrant it will make an example for the league what could happen if you try and posterize him
I think this goes on more than people realize. Yao, Shawn Bradley, Shaq, Ewing....I'm sure there were bounties to dunk on all of them. What do you expect from a bunch of competative millionaires? I would like to see Oden have fun with this as well. Fun as in rejecting anything that comes his way. BTW, Kevin Martin's dunk on Oden wasn't really a dunk ON Oden. Oden came over to help a little late and didn't even elevate to block the shot. Mikki Moore should get a refund.
