The Blackhawks have been shelling out some money this offseason as general manager Stan Bowman has worked to retain as much of the 2013 Stanley Cup team as possible.

The team's most recent signings included a six-year extension for goaltender Corey Crawford and a five-year extension for defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson but with those have come questions surrounding Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane.

Both players' contracts wrap up in 2014-15 and the Blackhawks can talk to both about extensions as soon as July 1 2014. And while the recent signings have sparked some question regarding Kane and Toews' contract extensions in relation to cap space Bowman previously said he expects league-wide revenue to continue to increase and has seemed confident in the ability to re-sign both.

On Friday he told the Blackhawks' official website that both players will be remaining in Chicago for the long haul.
