The Fort Worth Brahmas (23-14-4) earned all four possible points last week, going 2-0-0 in the team's two games. The weekend sweep included a 5-4 shootout win over the Bloomington Blaze Friday and a 3-2 victory in a nail-biter over the Rapid City Rush Saturday.

The Brahmas make the short trip to Allen to face off against the Americans Tuesday, January 29 at 7:05pm for the ninth of 17 total meetings between the two cross-town rivals. Fort Worth then hosts the Rapid City Rush Friday, February 1 and the Arizona Sundogs Saturday, February 2 at the NYTEX Sports Centre. Both weekend games are set for 7:30pm.

At this point in the season, the Brahmas stand in sole possession of third place in the Central Hockey League, just three points behind the Wichita Thunder and five points behind the first-place Allen Americans.

    LOOKING BACK:

Friday, January 25 vs. Bloomington Blaze:

After dropping a close game on the road to Bloomington the weekend before, the Brahmas hosted the Blaze Friday night at the NYTEX Sports Centre for the second of three total meetings in 2012-2013. Fort Worth came back from a 4-2 deficit, eventually winning the game in a shootout behind Shawn Szydlowski's conversion - the only one for either team. Kristofer Westblom stopped all five Bloomington attempts.

The contest was Chad Woollard's 800th career professional game. The veteran winger is the Brahmas' all-time leader in games played, points, goals and assists, as well as many other offensive categories. Woollard scored the game's first goal, giving him 13 on the season.

Saturday, January 26 vs. Rapid City Rush:

Fort Worth entered the game Saturday versus the Rush having won both previous meetings this season and having allowed only one goal in the two games combined. For the second consecutive night, the Brahmas entered the third period down by a goal. Again, Fort Worth completed the comeback, winning the game 3-2 in regulation behind Szydlowski's equalizer and Riley Boychuk's game-winner. With the win, the Brahmas are now 3-0-0 against Rapid City this season with one more meeting remaining.

Calin Wild extended his point streak to five games with an assist on the game-winning goal. John Snowden scored his team-high eighth power-play goal of the season in the first period, giving him 18 points (12 goals, six assists) in his last nine games.

    LOOKING AHEAD:

The Brahmas have a short trip to Allen to take on the Americans Tuesday night. The Brahmas have won the past two meetings with the Americans, each by the final score of 4-3. Fort Worth currently trails Allen by five points in the standings with nine more matchups between the two teams remaining.

Fort Worth then hosts two weekend games: Friday, February 1 versus the Rapid City Rush and Saturday, February 2 versus the Arizona Sundogs. The Brahmas are a combined 5-1-0 against the two teams.
