C'mon, a team like the Spurs wouldn't think of taking a shot at Roy's shoulder. In other news, the Spurs have announced they're bringing back Bruce Bowen for one game.
actually, Capt' sprained an ankle getting out of the chair infront of the computer, to go to the bathroom. Prognosis: 4-6 weeks on the IL.
If that doesn't work, atleast we'll have Howard go into beast mode with, especially when he is getting flagrant fouls.
Tonight he should get an MRI....or at least first thing in the morning. Its not as if Texas is a third world country. The Blazers have plenty of money, and plenty of money invested in Brandon. They should be able to get this done goddammit. Just plain stupid to fuck around with this.
Waiting to get back to Portland for an MRI...... Either this is really nothing - or the Blazers are raising idiocy to an art form. There is no middle ground here. If Roy aggravates the injury against the Spurs, somebody's ass needs to be in the unemployment line the next day.
This is such obvious practice. Baffling why our training staff is so blind to see it. If they suspect this injury is something that needs to be diagnosed by an MRI, why wait? The conclusion I came up with was that they don't think it's very serious. Don't really trust their judgment though.
It could be like rolling an ankle. Might hurt the day you do it, but the next day it might not. Ice it pop and anti-inflammatory and see how it feels. if it still hurts after then then consider the MRI.
why not? In your expert opinion, which injury should their medical staff have been able to foresee? the around here is ridiculous. Sometimes shit just happens and no one is the bad guy. STOMP
Their history has been dubious. Letting Webster return too early, letting Rudy participate in Eurobasket when he was battling a chronic injury, waiting to operate on Nic's shoulder until October, when Nic himself thought that he needed surgery since August. It's not about "foreseeing" injuries as much as it is about actively treating and preventing them.
If Roy is lost for a significant amount of time, Portland's playoff chances will take a hit. That's my analysis.
they let Webster return too early in your expert medical opinion or are you talking out your ass? Please fill me in on your medical background related to these matters. I'd also be curious to know how they could have forced Rudy not to play in Eurobasket STOMP
This isn't about prediciting a future injury. They already know he is hurt, they are saying they are concerned enough to want an MRI, but they are going to let him play in another game before they do the test? It doesn't take a medical professional to see the risk involved. This isn't game 7 of the play-offs. If he really needs the MRI, why wait?
There is no need to get so hot. Nothing I have said is completely out of left field. Webster's injury occurred as a result of him re-aggravating his initial stress fracture. He played five minutes before going down again. Since stress fractures occur degeneratively, rather than by a one time freak instance, it's obvious to deduce that he came back way too early. Even if the imaging analysis revealed that everything looked fine structurally, the staff should have given him time to strengthen the muscles surrounding his mended fracture. Uh, they could have cited his injury and kept him out?? I really don't know what you want me to say here. He had been complaining about back pains since the Ariza incident. Exactly.
good grief get a grip... you know you don't know shit so why assume the worst? Guys don't fall into NBA team doctor positions. They are highly trained and experienced experts who work with these players year round. If Brandon is to play, it only makes sense that their collection of Docs many years of training/experience leads them to believe that further damage really isn't at risk. I'm not a Doc or even aware of what sort of problem he's having with the joint, but I am aware that the shoulder isn't weight bearing. If it's thought to be just a bruise (or something equally minor) and they just want to do their due diligence confirming that with an MRI back in Portland, why should that make me question their judgment? Do you know more then me on this? If you do please share. In the meantime it seems unfathomable to think that they'd allow the face of the franchise to play if he was risking additional damage. I'm sure further analysis will be done tomorrow and won't be surprised if he's a late scratch, but the chicken little act to every bit of bad news is really tired. STOMP
