Re: Roy to undergo surgery again He probably did not want to mispronounce his name The double L is tricky.
Re: Roy to undergo surgery again The chaces that Roy becomes a legit NBA player has decreased from 20% to 3%. He has had other things to worry about than the Rookie of the Year race.
Re: Roy to undergo surgery again And he gets to collect all that money once again. He fooled us on his contract and he hoodwinked Minny as well. He's a smart cat.
Re: Roy to undergo surgery again What's karmic about Roy's career being snuffed out? It's not as though Minny was paying him crazy money so it's not really hurting Kahn.
Jeez, I would think that Roy's most recent injury, which will probably end his career, deserves a place of its own in the forum rather than in this sticky . . .
It's just a scoping. He banged knees with another player and has some loose cartilage floating around in there. They'll remove it and he'll be back. Personally I think he should hang it up but he's insistent on riding those knees until they can't even move anymore. And what's up with him not wearing knee pads?!? For fucks sake, wear some god damn knee pads. This is his 2nd or 3rd surgery for knee on knee damage that could have been lessened or prevented if he had worn knee pads.
Jerry Zgoda @JerryZgoda Wolves call BRoy surgery "successful," say he'll be out about a month. Checking to see exactly what the surgery did
Jason Quick @jwquick Brandon Roy's right knee surgery was "basically just a clean out" according to agent Greg Lawrence, who added that the procedure "went well"
Yep, there's only so much you can clean out before there's nothing left. So yes, it went well in that they cleaned out what they had to clean out and he didn't die on the table. But, the material they removed is either cartridge, which he really has none left, or bone chips, which indicates the knee continues to deteriorate and break down. Whether, or not, the surgery went well isn't really the issue. The issue is the guy can't play more than a few games without needing surgery to clean up the damage caused by playing the game of basketball. He really should have stayed retired, and it has nothing to do with tarnishing his legacy. He should have stayed retired because of the irreparable damage playing basketball causes his body. Every surgery he has they remove something. They aren't putting anything back to replace what they are removing and it's not growing back on its own. He needs to realize this and accept it. BNM
http://basketball.realgm.com/wireta...rative_Knee_Arthritis_Contemplates_Retirement Contemplating retirement again. Sad to see him go... again. Glad it was the Wolves who took the chance.
Via Jason Quick/Oregonian You should read Quick's entire article instead of the crap summary from Real GM.
