The writing was on the wall for Mike with him throwing away his guns and setting up his granddaughter, who I assume will still get the money since the one and only time the lawyer opened and used that box was the week prior to them all being confiscated--and because the lawyer doesn't represent Mike--but I guess we'll have to wait and see on that. Otherwise that's the price Mike pays for abandoning his granddaughter in the park (that and a bullet in the gut).

Gomie (sp?) is hilarious. He's the worst cop ever. Hank nails the lawyer but Gomie blurts it out in front of Walt and loses Mike in the process. Gomie's success ratio is a pitcher's batting average.

Walter made his full transition into Heisenberg last night, comparing length & girth with rival gangsters (the blue food colouring line was nice), cutting-off Jesse & bringing up his habit, and eventually killing Mike on a whim. Taking on Todd as the new Jesse will probably help him in the short term (and Todd's prison connections will come into play, maybe with Mike's crew getting got before they can rat) but burn him in the long term.

I was thinking about the symbolism of Walt's torched wrist, kind of like a fox chewing it's leg to escape a trap, but I'm not clever enough on a Monday morning to flesh it out.

Also interesting to watch Skyler becoming Elvira Hancock. At least her polluted womb gave Walt a son. Love watching Jesse revert back to teenage dope every time they're together.

Should be a good cliffhanger next week and then a long-ass wait until the second half in 2013.

I keep looking back to the opening scene of the season where WW is on the run and has the big gun. Recently I was thinking he was running from that Phoenix cartel. Now I think Jesse and Skylar may team up to take him down.

Knowing the BB writers I think that episode is going to pan out totally different than we're expecting. I just can't picture Walt being able to handle that weapon, or under what circumstances he might need it. He isn't Tony Montana.

What's Walt's personal kill count now, anyway?

The two drug dealers on the street corner... the two goons at the lab elevator... Mike... Gus, Ty, and Hector... any more?

His recklessness will certainly be his downfall. He over did it with the magnets at the beginning and almost got them caught, then overdid it again getting more methlamene than they planned for and almost killing Jesse, then he loses it and goes after Mike before realizing he didn't have to. Meanwhile Jesse is getting smarter- he thought of the magnet and the train plans, he was actually right that Lydia didn't plant the bug (that one wasn't exaclty based on intelligence though).

Like you said, WW is now Eisenberg. We know hes not Tony Montana, but hes starting to believe he is. He strong-armed the Phoenix cartel and after some hesitation he attacked Mike. Hes not afraid of the cops. You're right that the writers are probably too clever to make the lead up to that situation anything predictable, but we've all been waiting on Jesse to figure out about WW poisoning the kid, letting his girlfriend die, almost getting him killed under the train, and now killing Mike. And is Skylar just going to sit there indefinitely without taking action?

I'm a little bit annoyed how all of a sudden Jesse is a smart, level headed guy. In past seasons he has been the cause of almost as much bad shit as Walt.

were any of those names the bathtub guy in season 1? Of course there was also Jesse's girlfriend Jane who he killed (more or less) by watching her die when he could have easily saved her

Was he? Hes a criminal and addict but never violent unless provoked (drug dealers using kids) or Walter influenced/made him.

However its a stretch that all of a sudden hes hatching plans. Walter not thinking of the magnets idea is highly unlikely IMO. The train thing its just unreal all around. What is the explanation for his sudden increase in intelligence? I get that WW is becoming more impulsive and cocky. Don't really see how Jesse goes from being a complete moron his entire life to the mastermind of complicated plans.

That's an extra level of fanbois. "I love your work, but I won't let you know that I love your work, and how I know you"! A bit weird, actually.

"Hey, you with the kids, I'm going to strike up a conversation with you. I totally don't know who you are, you can believe it!"

Would it have killed you to say I love BB, and the work he does on the show?

I actually think that since the first kid was killed by Gus' people, Jesse has been fairly level-headed, even when he turned his house into a meth den for junkies for awhile. He has come e a long way from the "Cap'n Cook" days, but it's funny to see him revert to being a kid when he's around the misery and the despair known as Skylar.

I think Jesse cooked meth because he was decent at it, and it was fun and games before Walt got involved. I also think that Walt now has an out to not pay Jesse the $5 million, because Mike is now dead, and Walt has Todd, who he knows is a cold-blooded killer.

    Next summer?

Damn. I thought next year meant like February.

Splitting the season up like this is brutal.

Going to be a long wait.

I like that Hank's "oh shit" moment was literally while he was taking a shit.

Gonna be a long 9 months.

Vince Gilligan and his writers supposedly estimated Walt's money pile at $80MM minus what he gave Jesse.
