    Two words.

    Steve Austin

He had his bionic knees installed in 1973.

That explains how he was able to do the stunner so often.

It's really been an unbelievable year when it comes to injuries. Then to have the leader and all star of the etam go down right before the playoffs . . . it is almost surreal.

if I was to offer a guess it would be because medical experts made the call based on all the conditions/circumstances rather then some frothing at the mouth basketball fans.

All the talk "he's going to play through it" made me very nervous that he'd cause long term damage and compromise his career.

What are you basing this on? Pot stirring Jason Quick

Players with a broken wheel tend to favor it and mess themselves up even worse. Do you really want the franchise's best player to play at far less then 100% and possibly derail his career for good just for these playoffs? Dude is 25 years old...

    A KP quote . . . it's been a while.

“This is a setback, but we’ve been overcoming injuries all season long,” general manager Kevin Pritchard said. “This is about looking long-term and doing what’s best for Brandon.”

Could be the best thing for the team. Now, there's no pressure. Everyone's going to write off the Blazers as having no chance without their best player. Time for Martell to shoot like he's the only guy in the gym. Time for Bayless to drive to the basket and make Steve Nash look like an old man. Time for Andre Miller to play with that chip on his shoulder. And time for Marcus Camby to get that chant going again.

All it takes is winning one of the two games in Phoenix, and everything changes.

How does 4-6 weeks = missing the playoffs? Not a very optimistic statement by the Blazers! Have some faith we can win!

Coulda done this on Monday and gained about a week of rehab time. Still, I'm hopeful that he can come back in three weeks like he did in the past after having this surgery.

Good, they just invested 80 million dollars into him for the next 4 to 5 years, so I'm glad they are protecting their long term investment and not letting him pull a young Grant Hill.

If it's four to six weeks then it's definitely a partial tear rather than a meniscectomy. That's good news.

They had a specialist on the BFT and he said he could actually cause more damage such as an ACL tear.

Actually you could very well be right. The Blazers play better team ball when Roy isn't there for everyone to stand around and watch.

Almost??? It's definitely surreal. How many times in one season can a fan get his heart broken, that's what I want to know. God is testing us, is all I can think.
