My friend was born in Asia.

But he's 100% white/caucasian (they were there for military). Now, is your father of Cuban descent is my question?

    A couple of comments.

First, I understand the use of "rag head" against Muslims - even if I think it is wrong. Using that term against Hindus is just being an ass. Over the past 50 years, India has suffered far more attacks from Muslim extremists than the USA. Equating Hindus and Muslims is not funny in any context.

Second, and this is 100% serious, why is it that the default reaction to a tragic event is "9-11!". Why not OKC, or Columbine? More innocent people died at Sandy Hook than in Boston. There are more than one type of mass murderers. At this stage of the investigation, why is race/religion even an issue?

My grandparents were from Hungary. They could see what Hitler was getting ready to do so they sold everything and jumped ship for the USA. Now this wasn't an original idea, lots of Europeans were trying to escape the start of WWII and Ellis Island was overwhelmed with ships full of immigrants. The ship they were on was declared to be infected with typhoid and this locked it out of every port in North America. So it was either go back to Europe or go to Cuba.

My dad was born in Havana. When he was 12yrs old a revolution started in Cuba so they once again sold everything but this time moved directly south to Venezuela. My dad never went back to school in Venezuela. (Civil war broke out in Venezuela shortly after he arrived, lol) Instead worked to help support his family. When he was 21yrs old he LEGALLY immigrated to the USA. Joined the Air Force, became a citizen and met my mom at the Nellis Air Force base swimming pool. (She was a military brat.) They married 6mos later and are still happily married.

My father went on to graduate from PSU but according to some of you in here he took the easy way out in life and decided to suck off of the public tit. In other words he went on to become head of HUD here in Oregon and then took early retirement and then taught ESL students for the Reynolds school district. I know, I know, he rolled his time in the military into his federal pension from HUD and then went on to earn a small PERS pension. Pure scum bag but I still love him.

tldr: My father survived two wars as a child, became a USA citizen, worked hard, and has a really cool accent like Ricardo Montalban.

Not to get back to being somewhat serious here, but did anyone else see how a Mississippi Senator was sent a letter that was laced with some kind of poison?

OK folks, got a questions for you. Am I a honky? Both sides of my family are Eastern European Jewish. Its been researched, we are as Jew as Jew can be. for at least 300 years, Jew begot Jew begot Jew... And not just Jew, but Ashkenazi Jew (The smart Jew) So, is a purebred Jew a Honky? On one hand, I have white skin, on the other hand, I have kinky hair.

OKC was my initial reaction, to be honest. Or even the ATL Olympics.

But I get your point, as bringing up 9-11. To be fair, 9-11 was the biggest attack any of us can remember, so it's pretty easy to see how that's many people's knee-jerk reaction. And because it's still an ongoing "battle".
