$25 MM per year? I know Texas has it's fans, but that sounds overly optimistic. If true, it's interesting because it could play against the idea of superconferences.

    It's not overly optimistic.

Texas has a waiting list of 15 thousand just for season tickets to a stadium thaty seat 100 + thousand. Since the conference has no profit sharing system, Texas will make a lot more than anyone else.

The last reported television deal I saw (Google) for Notre Dame was $9 mil a year, but that might've been the previous deal.

that isn't 25 mil a year for their own tv network but 25 mil a year for their tv network combined with a new big 12 tv contract.

the big 12 doesn't split their revenue equally but they do share some of their revenue.

Yes. I was trying to dumb it down for people that don't follow college sports that closely. In the end, Texas will make more than the other schools.

If it's really all about the money, then there's nothing Larry Scott could've done anyway. If it's all true, it's a bummer for the also-rans in the Big 12. Even more so than in the past, the smaller schools are going to have a tough time competing.

Oh well. Bring in Utah, and have a 12 team conference.. and let The North (UO, OSU, and UW) continue to rise to prominence :)

Maybe Larry can get Utah? Maybe he can convince the Kansas schools that the grass is greener in the PAC 10? Leave the Big 12 with 8. What a major fail!!!!!! Texas, Oklahoma, Texas AM to Colorado and maybe Utah

I realize it's not really Larry's fault. He needs to step up and snag someone else quickly though. Utah is probably the best they can do about now. Ideally they could have got someone in the central time zone for tv though......not to mention conference prestige.

Colorado is viewed as the ugly step child of the Big 12. Since the weird revenue issue in the Big 12, I think Colorado comes out the same. It also gives them a fresh start in a new conference. Colorado also have most of their alumni based in Los Angeles.

Great move for them, Meh move for the PAC 0
