    I've always thought he was a poor actor. I even thought he was a poor character actor.

    He was trying to allude to the ownership of the fictional Nakatomi Tower/Plaza in the movie, not Fox Plaza where it was filmed. In the film it is owned by the Japanese, a foriegn entity. That was the joke Maris was playing at.

    But he was trying to tie that in with his wild eyed claim that more private property was owned by Japanese citizens than American citizens if I remember how all this got started correctly. Kind of blending the fantasized with the real.

    Just to piggyback on your post, I got a laugh outta this;

    President Trump responds to "Home Alone 2" scene being cut from Canadian TV

    President Donald Trump reacted to news that his short cameo in the 1992 movie "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York" was cut from a Canadian television channel's recent broadcasts. While Mr. Trump appeared to make light of it on Twitter, many of his fans, including his eldest son, disapproved of the cut and raised questions of political bias — even though it turns out the edit was made in 2014, well before Mr. Trump decided to run for office.

    On Thursday, Mr. Trump poked fun at Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau after the CBC network removed the scene showing Mr. Trump walking through the Plaza Hotel as actor Macaulay Culkin's character, Kevin McCallister, stops him to ask for directions.

    "I guess Justin T doesn't much like my making him pay up on NATO or Trade!" he tweeted. In another tweet, he wrote, "The movie will never be the same! (just kidding)".

    Donald Trump Jr. ripped the CBC for taking out the scene in an Instagram post, calling the Canadian broadcaster "totally pathetic." "Imagine being so 'triggered' that you can't even leave a Christmas movie alone without editing," he wrote. "This is what we are up against in 2020."

    The first Die Hard was the best. They've been steadily going downhill ever since although the downhill progression has been gradual. The downward progression has been just because of the plot but Bruce Willis has kept the interest up.

    News Flash -
    The whole world has what you describe as TDS syndrome. The answer lies in the covfefe issue. The only people who like Trump are a few deranged members of the country's Trump cult and Putin and his brainwashed followers.
    Right now Gallup has 45% of the people, the TCDS (Trump Cult Derangement Syndrome), who approve of Trump as opposed to the 51% who disapprove of Trump and all have TDS (Trump Disapproval Syndrome).
