<div class="quote_poster">Quoting tradebark:</div><div class="quote_post">Barry is an above average passer.. The guy has no problem playing point either, take it from a Sonic fan It's really just his age that is a concern, especially with that monster contract </div> Definitely agree with you there. Plus although he's pretty old he's still pretty fast and an intelligent player on D. His offensive capabilities have no need to be mentioned. I'd have Bones over Fisher simply because of his ability to be the better PG, you guys need a Francis replacement.
If Brent Barry signs with the Houstan Rockets, the Rockets would be my third fav team behind the Kings and of course Bulls, but Barry is awesome like everyone's been saying can hit the three with deadly accuracy and can run the point. Barry would be a great pickup for the Rockets, the contract is kind of too much though, but oh well, Barry with the Rockets next year makes them Title Contendors, if they don't get Barry I wouldn't consider them title contendors, that's how good barry is..

He is a role player, just like Rick Fox and Devean George were with the championship Lakers. Without them, it would not have destroyed the Laker team and caused it to not win the three-peat they did. Barry could be a piece of the puzzle on our quest for a championship, but not the star player that we would need to depend on every night.

Then again there still is Derek Fisher. Derek Fisher is not GREAT, but he can shoot the 3 and play d too. and he's used to playing with a great shooting guard and an awesome center, so I think he may be the better choice. Barry or Fisher, the Rockets can't lose with either one.
I just like to mention that Kobe has pointed out that Eric Snow is the toughest defender he had faced in the NBA. I heard this from an interview 2 yrs ago
24 million for 4 years, excellent shot at a championship, age considerations, I don't see how he turns down the Rockets offer. I like what they're trying to do here... They'll have 3 guys in the backcourt who are 6'6" - 6'8" who can all handle the ball (Think Chicago Bulls with Harper, Pippen and Jordan), pass the ball, and shoot the 3. Bones and T-Mac are both long and athletic, too.. Jackson, Barry and McGrady are all capable of grabbing 5+ boards and dishing out 5+ assists, which is an improvement considering Mobley hardly ever passed the ball. If he signs, I like the looks of the new line-up. Now to find a backup for Yao.
