That's fucking hilarious. Tell me, how many wins did Andrew Luck get against UO with that "big, fast, physical" defense?
Manhandled? We missed easy kicks, a block for an easy TD (DAT), dropped a pick 6 in the 4th quarter, our defensive line was in shambles, and our Freshman QB who hadn't been in a close game all year crapped his pants down the stretch . . . and you won be 3 in OT. Manhandled? That is what we did to you the previous two years, by dropping 50+ on your "physical" defense. Please. I can't wait to see the score board light up in Palo Alto next year with crooked numbers. You think you've unlocked the secret to beating Oregon with your "physical, fast' defense? LOL. We'll see. Then I'll go dance around Walmart because, well, that's what people from Oregon do. Right? FYI - I did watch your offense with Hogan. I watched the OSU Game, the Pac-12 Title Game, & the Wisconsin Game. It's gross. Nice defense, but Hogan is no Luck.
Why are you bragging about your education in a discussion about football? That sort of smack talk has always rubbed me the wrong way. It's one thing if a grad from Alabama is talking smack to a grad from Harvard, to which the Harvard grad then replies, "My university's purpose was education, not collegiate athletics." That's okay, because the Harvard grad is raising a valid point. To have a Stanford grad talking smack about academic performance in a football discussion is sort of pathetic though. It's fine to take pride in your football team, or the fact that you graduated from one of the most prestigious academic institutions in the country, but don't confuse the two.
Jim Norton @JimNorton I'm glad @ESPN apologized for Brent Musburger's VERY offensive compliments about the beauty of a beauty contest winner. A real guys network!
Yes. We beat UofO at home and they're still ranked ahead of Stanford. That's overhyped. Watch and learn the game, then post. Or at least read my posts, that will get your headed in the right direction. Pay specific attention to the part where Stanford was a completely different team after switching qbs. Hint: That was after the ND and Washington losses.
You're the only one comparing Hogan to Luck. I said he was much, much better than a terrible Nunes. Hell, I would have been better than Nunes. I do like how upset you're getting though. Typical Duck fans getting butthurt after they didn't get something they felt entitled to. Duck fans are college football's Laker fans.
Don't be fooled by blazerboy30, he didn't even go to Stanford, let alone graduate. He just talks a lot of shit with a tree as his avatar. Be prepared for him to call me out and say I don't know shit about him, etc..., but him and I both know the truth. Stanford played a great game against us this year, but we'd beat them 8/10 times. And we should have played Alabama for the 'ship, that's the game everyone across the country wanted to see. Stanford/Alabama? Ummm, no.
It wasn't relevant criticism. A school can and should be judged based on it's football / athletic program AND academics... and many any other factors. Especially in the case of Stanford where it's athletes are actually held to a high academic standard.
Where did I go to school? Perfect example of another butthurt, self-entitled Laker... I mean, Duck fan.
Am I the only one that didn't see her as that unbelievably hot, I mean she's no Jenn Sterger? I guess Brent had to talk about something with the game such a snoozer but I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. As for UO vs Stan, those are the type of defenses that the ucks struggle with and I'm not sure they win 80% of the time, in Eugene yes but Stanford was a different team with Hogan under center. Then again, they shouldn't have lost the ND game either.
No one is butt hurt, most I think are frustrated because you come in here saying how you think Stanford could be number 2 and owns Oregon when Stanford has 2 losses (including a loss to UW) and barely beat Oregon. And this argument that Stanford is now a differnt team so don't count those losses is a joke. Anyone who follows college football will tell you it doesn't work that way and you look at the whole season . . . which is why it is ridiculous you think Stanford could end up #2. Using you analogy, I could have played quaterback on the Ducks and Oregon would have beaten UW.
Yes, many Duck fans here are indeed butthurt. It doesn't get any more butthurt than comments like "we should have played in the 'ship game". Should have? Like you're owed something? Let me guess... it was the refs' fault, right Laker fans? I never said "don't count the losses". I said they were a completely different team after those losses with the new QB since people were bringing up the ND loss. You Oregon fans seem to think Stanford beating Oregon was a fluke because you watched Stanford's first half of the season when they really weren't impressive. I'm not saying Stanford should be ranked #2, because we really did have 2 losses. But I think there is a real case for them being the second best team in the country. If I had to put money on the games at this point, I'd put my money on Stanford against KSU, Oregon, ND, Florida... everybody except Alabama.
Well maybe you should make yourself more clear and you might get differnt responses. When someone asks you Why wasn't Stanford rated #2 to end the year? and you respond I actually think they have a case for being #2 at the end of the year. . . . at the very least that imples you think they could be rated #2 and really just flat out says you think there is an arguement for Stanford being rated #2. If you want to clarify what you meant, I get that. (But I wonder what your response would have been if I said I actually think Oregon has a case for being #1 at the end of the year.) I personally just rolled my eyes but others, rightfully so, decided to fire back at such a silly comment. The fact posters here think UO would have given a beter fight than ND is not being butt hurt, it's being a Oreogn fan. And I think UO should have played in the title game, IF they didn't shoot themselves in the foot against Stanford. As a duck fan, standford didn't win that game, the Ducks lost it. If that is being butthurt, OK.
Both are true. They have a case for being ranked #2 and a case for being the second best team in the country. There is certainly a case for Stanford to be ranked higher than Oregon after beating them, and playing a MUCH more difficult schedule. [/quote] There is nothing to clarify. I stand by my original statement that a case can be made for Stanford being ranked #2 and the second best team in the country. Yes, it certainly is.
Shoulda coulda woulda. If Mannion doesn't get injured, maybe OSU continues their undefeated roll. If Roy and Oden stay healthy, we'd have 3 championships. You lost. We don't need your hy-pathetic-als! The world and the media has spoken: Oregon is #2, ahead of Stanford. Get over it.
