There is nothing to clarify. I stand by my original statement that a case can be made for Stanford being ranked #2 and the second best team in the country. Yes, it certainly is.
Man you ar all over the map as you just said: I'm not saying Stanford should be ranked #2, because we really did have 2 losses. But I think there is a real case for them being the second best team in the country. But big newsflash for you: if you think I'm butthurt with the those thoughts on the Stanford game, you got butthurt x2 for thinking Stanford lost the games because of thier quarterback situation. UW flat out beat Stanford which gives them no chance to be #2, stop being butthurt and giving excuses about the quarterback and get over it.
Doesn't bb30 have a hard-on for Zags and knocks Zags as a braggart? But yet, we constantly read bb30's chippy comments, knocking Oregonians down and raising himself up like he's royalty? Kinda ironic.
You don't understand the difference between "they should be ranked" and "a case can be made"? You clearly went to UofO.
I am totally over it. Maybe read the thread before spouting off about your lack of comprehension? The duck fan is the first one to start throwing out the "we should have seen an Alabama vs UofO championship game".
There is nothing to clarify. I stand by my original statement that a case can be made for Stanford being ranked #2 and the second best team in the country. Yes, it certainly is.
The fact of the matter is, Oregon ended the season ranked #2. What was Stanford? Texas A&M beat Alabama, but did they end the season ranked ahead of the Tide? No. The people that make these rankings know a lot more about college football than you or I, right? I've yet to find any analyst that ranks Stanford ahead of Oregon, even though they beat us on that Saturday. Just like no one is ranking Texas A&M above Alabama even though they beat them. The Ducks are a better football team than Stanford. You can have your SAT scores (if you even went there)
Really? You're using the same people that had ND ranked ahead of Alabama before the championship game? Excellent logic. You got me there. There can certainly not be any discussion about the validity of the rankings by the people that "know a lot more".
We can split hairs all day, but the reality is the only people in the entire nation making this so called case for Stanford being #2 are Stanford fans . . . and I doubt most of them would say Stanford had a case. If this was in a court, a judge would throw that case out!
Ya that's the logical comeback that I was expecting, but if you really went to Stanford you must be smart enough to know your argument holds no water. Notre Dame deserved to be there, because they went undefeated, playing a pretty tough schedule, including a win against Stanford. There's a difference between deserving to be there and belonging there. Oregon belonged there. But Stanford beat us, and I give them credit. So we weren't there. That's college football. Oregon is the better team, and no one is argung that. Except you. You can make your case, but no one is buying it.
Ah, so the rankings only matter and make sense when it benefits Oregon. Gotcha. There is no such thing as "deserved to be there", unless you're a butthurt Oregon fan. Should I go back and find your posts from previous years where you argued that and undefeated Boise St. should be ranked ahead of Oregon and first in the nation. Did you argue for that back then? You Oregon fans are hilarious. It's like your entire life worth rests on the ducks football team. It's a lot like the high school athlete who has nothing else to rest his hat on so keeps telling his McDonald's coworkers about how he could have won the state championship.
Ya you should go back and find my posts from previous years! Please do! It's too bad you can't get a job in this economy with your M.A. from Stanford. And you say you did your undergrad at OSU? Honestly that explains a lot and I'm gonna leave you alone after this post. You're a little Beaver fan masquerading as some Stanford doctor...it's a cute act! Go Ducks!
It's ok, I know why you get so fired up over this topic. I'm sure you could have won the state championship if coach would have just given you a chance. Keep vicariously living through your ducks football, since you have nothing else. Uncle Rico, is that you?
Shit, you got me. Fuckin Stanford kids are so smart, even the ones that went to Oregon State. Maybe next year you can make the Cotton Bowl!
Stanford is damn good, 3 bcs games in a row...it can only help the conference to have another perennial top 5 team
