Brian Berger: Interesting Inside Info about KP

Almost as unjust as the Paul Allen character assassination was on draft night and the next day.

 

Paul Allen made his own bed. All he has to do is tell us why he fired his GM.

This Pritchard stuff is the work of cowards.

 

Why? Why does he have to tell us? Why does KP get the benefit of the doubt here, and not PA? Maybe Paul's taking the high road as well by not saying anything? And really, how would it benefit Paul to say anything? Unless he cam out and blamed it all on himself, no one woul dbelieve him anyway?

 

He doesn't have to obviously. But not doing so has led to an angry shit storm for both sides. I'm assuming they aren't telling us the reason because the reason he was let go probably isn't a very good one.

KP gets the benefit of the doubt because I saw the state of this franchise before and after he got here. I'm not sure what else there is to go on.

Actually, that isn't true.

This could have been framed to the public as philosophical differences. He was forced into a painful choice between Nate or KP. Or, KP is dedicated to building with youth, and because of his (PA's) health, he has decided to go for it now. "Ain't no good guy, ain't no bad guy, there's just you and me and we just disagree."

Anybody who follows the NBA has seen this sort of thing. People would believe and understand it, and only a few fanatics would be upset about it.

 

It could have if this hadn't been in the media for months. This was drawn out, and because somoene leaked info, it was known that the Blazers were going to fire KP right after the draft. At that point, PA would have looked like a fool had he said philosophical differences.
