I believe if the Lakers can bring in some better players within the next few years thru trades and free agency and continue using the gameplan that worked so well against the Suns this post season they should have no trouble at all having a great future. Especially after the Lakers get thru having to pay Brian Grants contract out. Another team I think can get better is the Knicks. The first thing they need to do is trade away Steve Fransis for a Franshise bigman. I would love to see maybe Marcus Camby go back to the Knicks. They could send Fyre and Franshise to the Nuggets in exchange for Camby and martin. I'm not really sure though how the Sallery Cap works so if this trade isnt any good someone let me know. Oh and a younger coach that will put up with Marberry. Other teams I think will get better:BostonOrlandoPhenox(When Amare returns)
I agree with the Lakers. If they can bring in a 3rd, or even 2nd guy, they could be a much better team. However, guys like Smush Parker and Kwame Brown would have to improve, something they haven't shown too much. Don't get me wrong, Smush Parker has gotten better, but he still hasn't dedveloped a mid-range game, and is too careless with the ball
It's the Bulls/Celtics/Magic, with Atlanta and Toronto not too far behind. And BCB beat me to it. Dirk is NOT young. he's not that old, but in no way is he young.

They are young at all 5 starting spots and even alot of young talent on the bench. hinrichgordondengnocionichandlerduhon#2 pick in this upcoming draft=damn good playerThats enough said right there</div>This guy nailed it!
NO Hornets: With Chris Paul and J.R. Smith they are ready to rock, and as rookie of the year Chris Paul develops he's only going to get better at the game and a future all-star PG.Bulls: This team is filled with young talent, starting from Hinrich going to Gordon and continuing around Chandler not to mention more. Making 7th seed this year, they have the brightest future in the league today.Raptors: Charlie V is going to be a potential all-star candidate in around 2-3 years, sophomore next year Charlie V will be able to help team star Chris Bosh who is going into only his 4th year and is a definite All star candidate for next year. Not to mention the biggest thing of all, that first pick.Cavaliers: LeBron James, 'nuff said.Nuggets (possibility): Meloman and his backup 'nuff said
Other than Chris Paul and David West the Hornets have a very average/poor team. Everyone keeps on jabbering about JR Smith but the team is sick of him and his attitude and he might be traded. The Nuggets? Camby is a walking injury and they have nobody that can score or shoot outside of Anthony.
Yea the Bulls got some pretty good potential. They got the young players (Hinrich, Deng, Gordon, Duhon), anddd the 2nd draft pick this year. But I gotta say the Raps have the brightest future. (cuz im a raps fan =P). We got the flexible cap space and the 1st draft pick. Not to mention our GM is a quality one. Also, CV and Bosh are two young players that have good potential with this franchise. If our 1st pick this year can produce well, then we'll have a pretty solid young team.
But your team is still in the dumps...Bosh can't lead your tream anywhere and none of your stars or any of your players play a lick of defense. You guys need to draft stand up players from good schools that are winners like what Chicago's done with Hinrich, Duhon, Gordon and Deng.

Sure, are defense sucks. But thats because we dont have a center yet, but we will (Aldridge). And if you look at our team without our horrid start (0-9), and without Bosh's late season injury, we are a .500 team. We play pretty good basketball. Our defense is bad because we do not have a center, and the majority of our guys are young and they havnt learned to play defense yet.So STFU and enjoy the ride :happy0144:

He's still new to the NBA and still is averaging 22 points and almost 10 rebounds. As for yous aying Villanueva can't support him then how is he already doing that well supporting Bosh. As CB4 said there defense will be much better in the case that they draft center LaMarcus Aldridge.
Your defense is bad because your not good at defense, most teams don't have good centers. The Bucks are terrible defensivly and we have two 'good' centers in Magloire and Bogut.
I don't know what people see in Kendrick Perkins, sure he was a HS player picked but he was not really that great even coming out of high school.
Perk is just an absolute beast. I can see him in his prime gettin 7 ppg (which would be a bonus), 11+ rpg, 2-3 bspg. Also, he fits in with the system. His role is to be the shotblocker/rebounder.
OK don't blow up Perk to be the next Ben Wallace, please. Let's be realistic here. Here's my insight on Perk:The thing I love about him the most is his work ethic. Comming into the NBA, he was kinda chubby and very slow. But, in his 2nd offseason, he buckled down and came back in 10x better shape than he was in 04-05. He lost a LOT of fat and continued to gain muscle. He was in the weight room and practice facility as much as anybody, maybe more. But as far as on the court: He is not any kind of offensive option at all. All he has offensively is a shaky hook shot. Most of his points come off cleanups. Which brings me to my next point, he is a very good rebounder. But his defensive presence is huge for this team. He can not only block shots, but he can push big guys out of the paint a little, contain them, and let them know "hey, you ain't gunna dominate me tonight." He is very tough, and is the badass of the C's.But, those Ben Wallace numbers nba dogmatist posted is not what I expect. I'm not even gunna make any type of statistical prediction. All I will say is that as of right now, he is not a legit NBA starter. But... he has a lot of room to improve, and with his work ethic there is no doubt in my mind he will. But his role will always be the same: defend and control the paint. He will be a valuable player to any team in the future with that role, but he will not be rolling in 7 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 blocks a night. But, he is a beast, and I look forward to see him further his development. I hope he stays with us for a long time, because he is our best interior defender by FAR, and we need that. Not to mention he is very humble, but at the same time, brings enough of an "attitude" to the court and he does his job. It's funny, because a guy like Perk that has that badass swagger, toughness in the paint, and strength - he doesn't talk! And when he does, it's very low. I don't believe I have ever even seen Perk smile more than once or twice haha. But again, I look forward to see him develope, and he will be an important piece, but let's not blow him up nba dogmatist :happy0144: .
