It should be a top 3 offense, and I think it could be around the 10th ranked defense.

There is no chance in hell that Charlotte trades Kemba for the #14th pick, Evan Turner, and Meyers Leoanrd. Nope. Not gonna happen.

And in this trade, it's flipping Faried for him while getting the 14th pick in the draft. Its a either/or scenario and I'd rather have Lee.

I actually like the rest of your trades in this proposal... Lee is a minor part of these deals... my response is more towards other posts I have seen so many times where people think Lee is some diffence maker that will change the fortunes of this team... he is a 33 year old journeyman that’s played for 7 teams...

    Bruh, don't avoid the context.

They would want to trade Batum for ET and Kyle. They get out of that contract a year early. That's a positive for them.

I wrestled with them swapping #11 for #8. You could probably add that to it. Trading up from #11 to #8, getting the 14th pick, and getting out of the last year of Kembas deal is a great trade for them.

Ed Davis was a journeyman too. Lee would be a big upgrade over Connaughton, especially in the playoffs.

    "Bring back Batum?"
    "Would you take back LaMarcus?"
    "Could we bring Wes back?"
    "Robin Lopez would help us"
    Ex girlfriend syndrome.

I really don't like the idea of Frenchy coming back to the Blazers and 27 million ????? Are you freakin kidding me?

Here is a look at the "Nic Batum" thread over on Hornets Planet.
Just read the thread and try to remember what was happening when he was here. It will most certainly make you reconsider the very thought of him coming back to Portland.
    http://hornetsplanet.com/topic/47484-batum-thread/

I so very serious when i say it's like jumping into a time capsule and reading the very same comments made just a few short years ago here. "Batum isn't even worthy of a starting position".... "Batum is too soft to play in this league".... "How can you be so tough on Batum when he is playing injured?" ..... " He plays all summer for France so he never heals".... " Batum can pass and be a good role player but not for that money".... The list of quotes is exactly what everyone was complaining about 3 years ago. Then there is a little problem with his shooting getting worse than it was even just a couple years ago here.

    No to Frenchy!

If Charlotte wants to dump Batum, can't they find contracts that expire quicker?
Maybe...this? (Assuming Boston still misses Turner....)

Wes is my favorite Blazer ever and while I’d be “happy” he came back, I understand he’s not very good anymore and on a strategic level no I don’t want him back.
LMA in a vacuum is way better than our 4’s right now, yes bring him back.
Lopez was good here but Nurkic has a much higher ceiling so no.
Batum, is inconsistent and seems lazy, but better than our SF’s now, so while I don’t “want” him back, i would probably do this.
It’s not ex-girlfriend syndrome it’s trying to get better, and some of our extra players were better than our current ones.

When Batum was here he lead the league in distance traveled on the court. This "inconsistency" concern some have is dumb, but "seems lazy"
    is factually wrong.

Totally agree with you on the "ex-girlfriend" syndrome. The LMA Blazers were a top 3 team in the west. Adding some of those players
    back COULD definitely be useful.

As an alternative and first choice, I would prefer to go after Tyreke Evans, but as a free agent, I don't think our cap MLE would be close enough to get him here.

Baynes and Monroe are free agents so they can't be traded in this deal. Boston is also very wing heavy so adding Turner and losing 3 of their bigger players makes no sense for them.

Huh - somebody at ESPN needs to update the Trade Machine!

The reason I picked those players is because I heard they might be losing them anyway, so that should've clued me in that they were FAs.

But in general: no team other than Boston is ever likely to be interested in Turner.

Yeah, there are some glitches in the trade machine as it only looks at current contracts and until July 1st, the trade machine thinks those players are under contract thus tradeable.

It seems to me that Batum has transitioned into being the full time PG for that team. He has more assists/minute than Kemba Walker. He never exactly looked for his shot and now he's on the ball more, I bet he shoots even less. But we'll need him to translate for Okobo when we draft him!

But it's true there is some Batum hate - witness:
