Has anyone ever had Broasted chicken? It's absolutely delicious but I can't find a decent joint that serves it anywhere in Portland.

Got to have an expensive pressure fryer. They range from $850 to over $8,000. Not sure if I trust the cheaper one to give a reliable result and for a long period of time while performing safely.
The last great Broasted chicken that I had was at the Creekside on the North end of hwy 101 running thru Seaside. They no longer serve it.

Man, that looks way too close to what the neighbor’s dog left on my lawn.

That's not like the fried chicken I had while in Korea.
My wife cooks fried chicken but it's just like my Alabama grandmother used to cook. Delicious but still not Broasted.

I went to Reel M Inn last night and they were pretty good. They served Broasted chicken with jo jos for about $9 depending on what parts of the chicken, breast, wing, thigh or drum stick. The jo jos were reallygood.
Reel M Inn is a dive. They serve beer, wine and hard liquor as well as the Broasted chicken. They also have corn dogs which I love but I don't want any hot dog with chicken in it and that wouldn't be proper. Be prepared for an hour to two hours wait.
Had a Guinness with my chicken dinner.

Lanny, this is about as close to a "broasted" chicken as I get. Sure, it's grilled, but what the heck! IMG_4819.jpg IMG_6464.jpg

I think my grandma's pan-fried chicken is a wonderful substitute.

Did you try Cider Mill & Fryer Tuck Chicken or Ringo's Bar and Grill?

Speaking of pan-fried goodness, I will need to harvest some of my vegetables & herbs to use them in my world class stir fry.

It’s all over the Midwest, but that doesn’t help you any. I never even heard of it until I moved to Wyoming, but yea, it’s delicious. Juiciest chicken ever.

I first ate at the Cider Mill in the early 70s. Last time I was there which was about 8 or 10 years ago I looked in the kitchen and saw that it was so dirty that I'd never eat there again. Also, their chicken is not Broasted nor even close and their jo jos are not good.
I've been to Ringo's a few times. The last time was when I lived in Aloha and frequented Beaverton. Their Broasted chicken is nice but too over done. I like the Broasted chicken at Reel M Inn better and the Reel M In has really nice jo jos.

The Reel M Inn was kind of a dive which had a great selection of oldie Rock and Roll songs such as Rod Stewart and Billy Joel but is way too loud. When those people get old they're gonna be spending their remaining years saying "What?" The barmaid was very friendly and they served up a nice pint of Guinness for $4. My wife had a hefeweisen for the same $4 price. I saw they had onion rings for $4 and I wish I had tried an order.

Sorry, but when they closed the Creekside's Broasted chicken item Oregon really lost something.

Now, Bigfoot on Hwy 99 at the South end of Seaside use to have some decent Broasted chicken, a bit too overdone but not as bad as Ringo's is overdone. I should try that joint some time. Haven't been in there in over ten years.

There's a place called Manley's Tavern in the tiny town of Crescent, Oregon. It's almost a 4 hour drive from Portland. I've only been there once and it was okay but mainly because my friend kept hyping it up as "God's Chicken" so I was expecting the best chicken ever. He's used vacation days just to drive there and eat it so someone thinks it's worth it.
