Bryan Augenstein makes the cut

    "Among the several players making their first Opening Day roster in the major leagues, the longest shot coming into Cardinals camp was righthander Bryan Augenstein, who had a 6.49 ERA as a starter for Arizona's Reno Class AAA team last year.

    Augenstein won a job as a middle reliever by posting a 0.77 ERA for 11 2/3 innings in which opponents batted but .125 against him.

    Augenstein, 24 years old and 6-feet-6, found out his good news on Monday.

    "It's an amazing feeling," said Augenstein. "I'm going to try to keep doing what I've been doing.""
