Funny you post that about Lafreniere after a game where he led the team in hits. This team needs more grit. No newsflash there. I am sure that is something Gorton/JD are looking for.

As for Lafreniere, the guy has 1 point all season, a goal. Don't get me wrong, I am not knocking the kid as a young rookie, but he has not exactly came into the NHL and lit the league on fire. He will continue to improve, no doubt, but he has to get it done working with the coaches. This isn't oh the coaches are failing him. It's a two way street.

I know you guys won't do it because you love him, but how about getting on Kreider. The guy has 4 goals and zero assists (not 1 assist in 11 games). He has played maybe 3 or 4 games where he showed up, and was invisible again last night, and he has the worst +/- of any player still on the team. We gave this guy 6.5 per year for 7 seasons, and he simply has not been getting it done. I understand I will get branded as a Kreider hater, but it's simply not true. I want him to do well especially given his long term new deal, but he just doesn't bring it near enough. Again through 11 games - only 4 goals, 0 assists, and the worst +/- of players still playing on the team. Not good enough for someone you guys want to be our captain.

At least one of Lemieux or Howden will be gone to Seattle. I can't really see them taking Hajek. Guess Strome is a possibility but they may find a better C for the $$. As for Lafreniere, watching him he does seem to follow through on checking but he needs to start finding the puck more.

He needs a real head coach. This coach is death to young forwards with scoring ability. He's pitiful. He has no clue what he's doing. The fact that the players have the height and weight up front with their forwards and this team doesn't take the body at all is a reflection on their incompetent head coach.

Chuck, the way they count hits is if you accidentally brush up against someone that’s a hit. We do too much of that. Need to actually take the body and punish it. We have the size to do it just don’t do it. Coach has no confidence in laf. Playing him a shift or 2 in the last 10 minutes last 2 games is telling. Since we’re not making the playoffs this year we should be getting rid of some of the dead wood like howden and lemieux with some more kids. As I’ve been saying Quinn is over his head with his offensive philosophy if you want to call it that. We have too much talent to generate this little offense. Back to college Quinn.

News flash...the Rangers haven't been a physical team in any way for the better part of two decades.

I saw about 15 times where the Rangers brushed up against an Islander d man. Lafreniere did it at least 5 times. He's a kid. Coach him. Show him the tape. The other players like Strome, Howden, Buchnevich, Kreider, question their balls to their face. It's why I have Chuck on ignore now mrmel. You can't possibly be that stupid on this team to think they take the body. The forwards on this team are a bunch of pansies.

Wait - is Quinn in over his head on O or D? I thought it was D, now he's in over his head on O as well. Wow, he must be the worst coach in the NHL...LOL.

And of course we are not a physical team, as mentioned adding more toughness, grit, and straight line players is a focus (you can see from the recent drafts). I just find it funny that Laf was actually hitting last night and now the non-Rangers fan decides to post about Laf not being physical. That's funny.

Once again, how about some player accountability. Z has done nada, Laf has 1 point, Kreider has 0 assists and the worst +/- on the team. It is not all the coach. It is a team effort. We have been up and down thus far, which I would say shouldn't be too unexpected.

Last year the rangers scored 3.33 goals a game vs the league average of 2.97.
In fact...the 3.33 goals a game is the highest the Rangers averaged in the last 10 years.

yet Quinn is over his head?

Stats bounce off the FQK's like Teflon Al, you're wasting your fingers. 6th in the NHL hits/game but we can judge them like figure skating so actually the Rangers are last in real good hitting. If Quinn is emphasizing big hitting to the young 1st rounders he should be fired, they all need to shoot the puck more. I thought the Rangers outplayed the fishsticks most of the game but this young team needs to learn to play 60 minutes. Most of their losses have been due to a momentary lapse or two that their opponent have capitalized on.

Oh Al. You're so lost. You don't read as usual. The point was Quinn developing young forwards. Also, last year he just got stupid lucky with career years from Panarin, Strome, Zibanejad and DeAngelo. They call them career years for a reason. They don't happen often.

Typical...no coach can be credited with "career years" but all coaches are responsible for off years.

Spot on Al. Bad things it's all on the coach. Good things, and it's all the player and happened by luck/in spite of the coach.

Once again - Buch, Fox, Lindgren, Chytil all developed under Quinn. Miller put into a top 4 role pretty much from game 1 by Quinn, and is playing well. Lafreniere and Kakko playing important roles under Quinn.

None of that matters though, he's the worst and it's luck when players play well for him.

Sometimes you have to wonder, are posts like that serious, or is he trolling like the non-Rangers fan he is. Can someone really be that clueless about what they are writing (player plays poorly - coach stinks; player plays well - coach got lucky due to career years; that cannot be serious).

Looking at his overall track record with high talent, young forwards, it can't be disputed that he is atrocious as a head coach. Defenseman wise he's been solid. However, in order to be a good NHL coach you must be able to develop all positions. Clearly, he can't. Thus, he needs to be shown the door soon. Keenan was a maniac and Messier had to stop him from being the nut that he was. However, Keenan realized what he had with Kovalev. Despite Kovalev being an epic moron, Keenan developed him. When he did well he played him a ton of minutes and on the first PP unit. When he screwed up he benched him but he went back to him right away the next game. Quinn is a moron. Kakko and Lafreniere are first PP talents. They are top 2 line talents. Quinn can't grasp that. He'll move Kakko back down soon because that is what the moron does.

Buch and Chytil developed under him. Ziban had his best season ever under him. Do those not count? Or better said, they don't fit your narrative, so we'll discount them.

Lafreniere and Kakko have both been given very ample time in the top 6. Kakko played many games with Chytil, who was playing really well before his injury. Yet Laf has 1 point and Kakko 3. Maybe they are young kids who need time to grow and mature (which makes perfect sense). And put them both on PP1, who comes off? Krieder, Z, Buch? Once again nit picky nonsense and absent of any deep or critical thinking.

Once again @panzerporter has nailed it. There is no point in trying to engage @kreidertime anymore...he's clearly delusional like those QAnon-following neo-nazi Trumptards. He makes these uneducated declarations and when you present him with facts showing how he is wrong he only yells louder thinking thats how you win an argument. Just let him live in a safe space on this board where his delicate sensibilities can exist in a vacuum.

Geeze enough with these “kids”, team has enough youth and in the system. They need quality guys that can develop these young forwards. Same tune and when this bunch turns 25 this board will say the same thing “we need kids to replace these guys”. Get an experienced NHL head coach. Our first line with the exception of Panarin is a 2nd line on any good team. Kreider needs to shave that pussy hair off his face and get back to playing physical. Strome has sucked along with Zibanejad. K and Strome got lazy as hell after their last contracts. Don’t even get me started on dumbass Trouba and that dope D’Angelo

Trouba has stuggled. No question. Lines and PP should be this. I've said something like this before. Do not change it the rest of the season. Assuming Chytil comes back.

    Panarin-Chytil-Kakko
    Lafreniere-Zibanejad-Kreider
    Buchnevich-Strome-Gauthier
    Lemieux-Richards-Barron

Howden, Rooney, Blackwell and Di Giuseppi all need to be traded.

    Miller-Trouba
    Lindgren-Fox
    Hajek-Schneider

No reason to delay the rebuild on d either. Play Hajek and hopefully you can deal him at the end of the year.

    1st PP unit

    Kreider-Zibanejad-Kakko
    Panarin-Fox

    2nd PP unit

    Gauthier-Chytil-Lafreniere
    Buchnevich-Miller

It's not hard Quinn you retard. Figure it out and stick with it all year.

If you move Bennett for DeAngelo in a deal.

    Panarin-Chytil-Kakko
    Lafreniere-Zibanejad-Kreider
    Bennett-Strome-Gauthier
    Lemieux-Richards-Barron

I dump Buchnevich and try to get a first.

Okay - so your issue is, and why Quinn should be fired and is doing an awful job, moving one of our best forwards so far, Buch, down to the 3rd line and moving Kakko or Lafreniere (only 1 because the other one has been in the top 6 throughout) into the top 6. Do you see how much of a joke you are dude? I mean for that nitpicky item you rip the guy nonstop. You are ridiculous. And BTW - Kakko played virtually every game with Chytil until he went down, so that duo was together also.

The D is exactly what he has been going with (minus Schneider who has no chance to be up this year).

The funny thing is, and I really mean this, you are too full of yourself and lost to even understand how ridiculous you look with your nitpicky thoughts on what the lines should be - and that doesn't even factor in the nonsense that you think you are better suited to set the lines than the coaches, Gorton, and JD are.

    Laughable.
