<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Ace2k2:</div><div class="quote_post">But JAckson this season he showed he has the ability to be our starter of the present. Just like you said Sammy is our starter of the future. Mutombo and Sammy do have similar games and I do miss Mutombo. I just don't think that Sammy is at Mutombo level yet. Appartently JAckson proved to be the better starter in Training Camp.</div> The thing I think happened in the situation between Dalembert and Jackson in the off season was a weird one because when asked who he thought would be in the starting lineup a while back before training camp. JO indicated AI, Green, Robinson, Thomas, and either Jackson or SD. So he basically gave everyone who was a starter last year and Green since the Snow trade the benieft of the doubt to start, but did not do the same for SD which makes me think he was never really high on him. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Ace2k2:</div><div class="quote_post">My bad, I don't recognize the stats, but 6.30 isnt that far off from 7. Hes only been given about 4 more minutes than Jackson according to you. Jackson should have about 3-4 points and 2-3 rebounds on Sammy. Dalembert is a better blocker and rebounder than Jackson and that's it. Just like you said in defending McKie. Salmons is unproven, while McKie is a established veteran or something along those lines. I could say the same here. </div> SD how ever has made bigger strides in a year and a half in the NBA (since he was injured his rookie season) then Salmons ha shown in longer time. Also Mckie is a vetern who in the past had established himself well in the NBA ranks and we where discussing who should get minutes off the bench when we where talking about Salmons and Mckie not who should start. In the NBA if two players can play at the same level and one plays better defense and is younger you usually go with that guy. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Ace2k2:</div><div class="quote_post">Actually that's a very good point right there</div> Thank you <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Ace2k2:</div><div class="quote_post">yup "defense wins championship" again. The Lakers that won those 3 championships offense exceeded their defense and they won 3 rings together. Shaq- Good defensive player, but ofeense was MUCH better Kobe- Again one of the best defensive players of the year, but Offense was greatly overshadowed it. </div> Shaq and Kobe both NBA all team defenders and where recognized for there defense as well as there offense. When they went away from that method by signing so many scorers and losing there best argueable defender in Karl Malone in the finals they lost to the betteer defensive team. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Ace 2k2:</div><div class="quote_post">The only team in the past decade that won a championship thats defense excceeds its offense is the Pistons. Possibly the Spurs and the Rockets, but those teams had great offensive weapons as well as defence. The Bulls and Lakers clearly had a better offense. Heres my motto "A offense full of great passers can destroy even the greatest of defences" Jackson is a better passer than Dalembert by a lot. Dalembert isn't that great of a passer. </div> Here is a moto a offense with no defense will lose to a good defense look at the Lakers in the finals. Is that a motto or a sentence? Either way in the league today you can not really put offense over defense in my mind the Spurs had the twin tower defense when they won there tow titles there first one was ther ebest show of defense vs the New York Knicks in there second one Tim Duncan nearly had a quadrupal double having like 8 blocks in the finals in one game so obviously someone was playing defense. Then look at the Jordan dynasty he even siad he thought for his team to win they needed to be recognized for mroe than offense. Thus Jordan former defensive player of the year, Pippen great defender, and in one of the Bulls championships forget which they would not have one without Jordans defensive steal. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Ace 2k2:</div><div class="quote_post">*4 less minutes Kenny Thomas is a capable double double guy as is Sammy. Sammy or MArc JAckson will work</div> I sorta agree and adont agree SD averages less than one offensive board a game in 8 less minutes if you take those 8 extra minutes that Jackson averages and give them to SD I think we get more offensive boards. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Ace 2k2:</div><div class="quote_post">Better Rebounding yes, better blocking yes, better inside presence No no no! Jackson is a better inside presence. I'll say it again. The things that Sammy has on JAckson is blocking, rebounding, and defense, personally I think both of these players are capable of starting.</div> Two years ago Tmac and the magic had jsut beat us in the game and the media was asking Tmac why he always performs well against us. Tmac said I guess its because they dont really have a inside guy they really havent had one since Mutombo, about a month later Pierce echo'd those same words. I think with SD in the middle they won be saying that. I think he is a better inside pressence due to the fact his blocking and rebounding abilities keep guards like VC and others out of the lane and force them to settle more for the mid range j8umper unlike Jacksons defense which is not his fualt its jsut SD's length adds to hsi defensive ability. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Ace 2k2:</div><div class="quote_post">Lol Pure Skillz I think your going for your former JBB MVP title as Most of your post I saw recently are like 5 paragraphs long. great good points and that sticks out more. Lol some oen could make 5 paragraph of just saying aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaa. </div> Its easier to reply to soemthing with good points when there are a lot of points to counter act by the other guy. So I thank you for that.
