If Deng were having the sort of year he was having last year, when people somewhat seriously suggested he was the second best young SF in the game behind Lebron, I could maybe see it when coupled with the microfracture on Oden. But time hasn't been kind to that idea. To say the least.
Oden hasn't played a game yet, and perhaps never will. It's likely he will, don't get me wrong. The deal proposed here looks better for Portland than LA got for Shaq or Milwaukee got for Kareem, and those guys were well known as far as what they could do. It's not a deal I would do if I were the Bulls. Given the way the Blazers have been winning without Oden (and without Deng and Hinrich and the others), they might not want to either.
David Aldridge on TNT last night I believe, reported Tyrus Thomas for Jarrett Jack and Channing Frye. Kevin Pritchard denied the rumor though today. As Pax would say, "Mistinformation!"
