As always, time will tell. The Bulls have the best record, but haven't played great basketball lately. They need Rose to be Rose in order to play sustainably great basketball. Rose is back on the court and that's a start. If they're still scufflin' 4 games into the first round, my glass will begin to look emptier. Until that point, I like the vibe I'm feelin'...even if I'm the only one feelin' it.
There's nothing wrong with being an optimist, and I'm not trying to change your mind. I wish I shared your perspective.
Nope, not feelin' real good about things today. Unfortunately, I don't see my POV changing any time soon.
The word "hope" has replaced the word "expect". I still have hope they'll go far. But "far" has definitely come nearer to the beginning than the end.
I actually think the Bulls' chances are not really worse than before Rose's injury. But I didn't think the Bulls were a threat to make the finals in the first place. That said, if we do end up playing Miami, it may not be as bad as last season. They shut down Rose after game 1 and we didn't have anything else to throw at them. This time, Miami can't focus on one guy to shut down the whole team. Though they do have the talent to bury us if they figured that out. Lucas went off against them and they ended up guarding him with James. Wow. If we could get every team to put their best defender on Lucas, the other guys should do pretty good. Though I'm OK with our chances in the playoffs, next year regular season is another story. We played a team without Rose that did fine, but as they got extended minutes we saw guys go through major slumps. Seriously. CJ Watson was having such a good season that transplant wrote an article praising him. Now he's got a 13.3 PER. Brewer's PER has slid to 12.3. And that's our starting back court.
