Are you saying the forwards need to go? Or are you saying the forwards as our defined starters needs to change? Grant may not be all that, but he did score on Imbiid in the paint. Who else does that on this team? Thybulle is as you say, a defensive specialist who will occasionally, hit an important shot. He cannot create offense in the league at will. Grant can...big difference. I also do not agree that Grant should never be the focal point of the offense. Sometimes, matchups might make that happen, and it can be successful. But as THE guy, I think we have seen his skill set in entirety. I wish he had Brogdon's 14-18- floater. It would really help him.
It's obvious that Grant, Brogdon and Thybulle don't want to be here, they're just playing for fun. I don't blame Brogdon and Thybulle because they had no choice, Grant took the money. I want all three gone
Difference of opinions I guess, but Thybulle needs to come off the bench and Grant is not good of a ball handler to be a #1 option. Like you are saying if there are matchups then exploit them with Grant, but that just makes him a role player. True #1's can create for themselves or others and that is not in Grant's wheelhouse.
Got it. I didn't remember you saying "True #1's. Didn't know that was your criteria. I think he is a great #1A, but alongside a true 1 would certainly be best.
It was what I was trying to imply with Ant's injury, then Grant became the only defacto option at #1. Unless based on matchups, he should not be initiating the offense.
Maybe it’s just his face but I always get this sense that Brogdon doesn’t wanna be here. I mean from a player perspective I don’t blame him.
I think you'll get what you want. Brogdon will yield the highest return. Grant should get us a protected first that will convey in this upcoming draft from a contender or at least a playoff team that can make him their third scoring option. I think Thybulle will likely get us a prospect from a win now team that can use Matisse in their rotation right now and can't afford the patience to wait on the prospect (thinking a guy taken in one of the last two drafts in the mid to late first round).
it won't be conclusive by any stretch, but I think by New Year's day we'll have a better handle on where Scoot is at. That's will be after 29 games and Portland will have just finished a stretch of 8 of 9 games at home. 29 games is a good sample size; 3 isn't
We picked 3rd. I'm curious what Cronin would've done with the 2nd. Probably Miller and Dame probably still asks out. Drafting Scoot is like buying a Corolla or Civic. No one will criticize you
Yep. But I think if we had 2 it would have been Miller. But I think you're right. I think every team in the league would have taken Scoot at 3.
