So you’d rather keep Banton of the two if you had the choice? I believe around the league you would be by yourself on that island FAMS!

They knew that they already have a PG of the present AND future.

I agree with a lot of what you said here. He won't be a starter for anyone unless there are injuries. But he has shown growth in at least one area that we can track via the box score. He has made almost 100 3s this year, while in his previous 2 years, he made a combined 18. So the question is will he continue to get better at shooting? He is a little out of control at times when he attacks the basket, but I like having that extra rebounder out there that immediately pushes the ball down court

Did I see our #3 pick is the 3rd leading scorer and 1st in dimes in this rookie class? If that’s true, I’ll take the TOs that come with that.

So you WOULD take Scoot over Banton?

Except the people in the media were talking to basketball bonafides or used to be basketball bonafides.

Let's not make this out to be guys who were doing the weather on local TV 10 years ago to act like a bunch of nobodies in the media were projecting Scoot at a much higher level than he's performing. That would be hyperbolically inaccurate.

think unmistakably is a bit strong. Scoot had a really strong lead up to the AS break.

Agreed. Scoot has all the stuff you can't teach. He just needs to improve on a few of the things that anybody can learn.

I think with Banton and Scoot we should be set at PG moving forward.

personally, I don't think Portland is truly 'set' at any position. Scoot might be the PGOTF and Banton may be a decent backup. Or that assumption could end up being no better than Telfaire + Jarrett Jack.

I'd like to think that Sharpe is the SGOTF, but after 2 years I just don't know how much of his upside is real and how much is mirage. I'm also thinking that Cronin and the F.O. have learned nothing from the CJ era and are locked-in on Ant

Camara as the long term SF? Grant at PF? Ayton at C? the list of weaknesses in that trio is a lot longer than the list of strengths

AND? Is that how you judge players?

I don’t you ALL Star games made to judge a players greatness. Shit Dame made 2 only because guys got injured.

The minutes he got, hype, and being called generational that’s a damn shame he can’t even make 2nd team all rookie

Generational? I don't think anyone said that. The only one I have heard called that in a while was Wembanyama. I think you are about a foot off

Absolutely. We still need to be in take the best player available mode. But we probably don't need to keep Ant around any longer than necessary.

yeah, I don't recall the generational label

however, what was said repeatedly was that Scoot would have been a probable #1 selection in any draft that didn't have a Wemby or Lecron in the class. That's a pretty high threshold

Gonna have to find a LINK to share anybody who called him generational. Whoever did probably thought we’d win 55 games this season. Let me know FAMS!
