Just saw this and though it was funny, in reference to Obamas latest comments about eliminating the penny.
Obama is just a bit more inept than I expected. His promise to close Gitmo was a joke, Ok fella, wtf are you going to do instead? The ObamaCare is at least as bad as I expected. The guy doesn't even understand what insurance is. He didn't give a shit about all the people that were covered, around 60 percent of whom were covered by self insured employers quite nicely. He was willing to destroy this system in order to insure a few others like KingSpeed without regard to the damages he created. His interface with the rest of the world is a complete embarrassment and has been totally ineffective and becoming worse. His unprecedented run up of the nations debt is criminal. His selective failure to administer the laws as required of the chief executive in the Constitution are the biggest failing. He should be impeached for these flaws and save the nation his remaining term.
everyone knows politicians are full of shit, but he had the audacity to say he wasnt, when he clearly was thats shady yo
oh, yeah, I have to agree that the GOP is a mess..the only guy I see that makes any sense is Rand Paul..but he is never going to get the nod...
I understand the rhetoric, but the talking point does not match up with reality.. still, there are those that will refuse to admit the harm
sorry, had a busy day at work. No, that's not how it works. It's not either A or B. I never said that you had to call him great (great? he's borderline good) to not be partisan. But when you state things that are not in the grasp of reality (i.e., worse economically than Bush) that's not exactly being partisan. It would be nice if you didn't just forward emails you got.
that's about my stance too. He's not what I hoped for, but he's better than what i feared (McCain or Romney, or Dukai...Duk..that one guy who ran in 88, or Gore). I think he's run of the mill, middle of the road, President. Didn't keep his promises (NONE do) and was weak on a lot of the things I think he should've been strong on. Kept a lot of the Bush/Clinton policies I didn't like in tact, has kept Gitmo open, and prolonged Iraq and Afghanistan longer than what I wanted. He hasn't done anything (or enough) to change how Government is run by rich people, but realistically, he or any other president wasn't going to.
Who are these poor people you want running things? What jobs do you want some poor shmuck running? Treasure? Defense? State? What?
Disappointed isn't exactly the right word for it. My experience coming into political consciousness started when I was 15 with Bush being gifted the 2000 election by the Supreme Court, followed by 9/11, following by "They hate us for our freedom", followed by two wars, Guantanamo bay, illegal wire tapping, Enron, the housing bubble, and the bailouts. Politics was a joke. It was obvious that the whole system was broke. Why wouldn't anyone just admit it? Then someone did. Obama came along, told us that the system is broke and we can do it different. He was the only hope for change to have ever spoken to my generation directly. He used that to his advantage, got elected twice and continued the status quo. Was I disappointed? Sure. But it was more than that. It was a reminder that the power structures in place are much more entrenched than one president can represent. It was a reminder that real change is as far from actualization than it has ever been. It was a reminder for my generation that if we wanted to play the game of real life, we had to learn to play by the rules of ruthlessness and lies. It's a reaffirmation of "fuck it."
He is George W. Bush on steroids as far as deliberately trampling our Constitutional rights. He spits on our justice system and admitedly murders innocent American citizens. He has mounted the largest government campaign to forcibly disarm a populace since Hitler's. He's made no attempt to decrease healthcare costs, fuel or energy costs, or any other runaway monopolies gouging Americans. His draconian battle against legal medical marijuana providers seems to be racially selective and distinctfully cruel. He's done nothing to save what's left of the middle class, to make college affordable, or to protect our food supply. But in any case my first paragraph makes him a genuine traitor to my country, negating any and all of the positive changes he brought about. This should not be interpreted as a belief that Romney would have done much differently or an endorsement of any future candidate or party. They're all just servants to the 1%.
Yup. He's not working for anyone but cigar chomping tycoons. The post about how the most conservative democrat wins is totally true. And in an ever-more conservative country, the difference between this decade's model of Democrat and last decade's model of Republican is so small...
I'm fine with that, as long as there's a cap on wealth, taxed 100% at (I'll be generous) $3million or higher. Split the rest up and send $120,000 kicker checks to everyone.
I think he's doing fine. But then, I'm a moderate democrat. I never believed Obama rode on a pink unicorn to save the starving puppies, nor do I think he's a socialist communist fascist weak-kneed incompetent power-hungry dictator. He's made marginal positive changes, which is about all you can hope for under our system of government. He's screwed up a few things, and it is certainly possible to wish for someone better... but overall things are fine and getting better. Maybe the next guy will be mondo super cool greatest president ever. Maybe not. We'll see. barfo
