This is from Around The Horn, well, the concept of the game. Anyways, I'm gonna touch on both topics of discussion. Bulls Making Playoffs: Buy. This team seemed to get better late last season. They finally started to jel as a team. They have a lot of great young talent in Jamal Crawford and others. Crawford especially, as he showed what he could do late last year near the end. He seemed to be continually improving as the year went on and at the end looked like the player of the future for this team. Plus, they will have veterans Jalen Rose and Scottie Pippen to help the young players like Crawford and Hinrich. Plus, with the recent acquisition of Kendall Gill, it gives them even more depth at the guard and forward position. Mavs Being Best West Team: Sell. They may have gotten Antawn Jamison but they had to lose the best player off the bench that they had. Granted that Jamison will be able to bring a little more to the table that Van Exel did, but, they need to start him in order for that to happen. But, I do believe he will start, most likely at the small forward spot. But, by losing Van Exel, they lost their bench spark and now a lot more pressure will fall on Nash cause he'll basically have to run the point by himself. Plus, this team still needs to learn how to defend. That is their biggest malfunction. They can score, but, they can't defend. The only person on that team that is even halfway descent with one on one defending is Eduardo Najera, but, with good defense for him comes normally not too spectacular defense. I still see the Lakers winning this conference because they made two huge moves and though this move was big, they still have to show the ability to defend night in night out before they'll win the West.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting sunsfan1357:</div><div class="quote_post">Bulls- Sell. The eight playoffs teams that made it last year are better than the Bulls still. Except for the Bucks, but I'm looking for the Wizards to take their spot because they also should be better than the Bulls.</div> I agree... sell as well on this topic... I dont know if the Wizards will beat them out but I could see the Knicks (yes the KNICKS) being better than the Bulls... Knicks make the playoffs at 39-43.
That would be very pathetic if they made it in at 39-43. That should be like, the record of like, the 10 seed. But, than again, we're talkin the east here.
Last season, the top eight seeds in the Eastern conference had records that were over .500. The East doesn't lack that much competition.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting slamduncan21:</div><div class="quote_post">Last season, the top eight seeds in the Eastern conference had records that were over .500. I would bet on a losing record getting into the playoffs next season in the east and a winning record in the west just missing the playoffs...
sell they have to many all start on there team like the lakers and twolvs the spurs had 1 all star and they won the champion ship it dont matter how many all stars u got it matters the chemistry between players REMEMBER THERE IS ONLY 1 BALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BULLS wont make the playoffs the knicks improve a lot and if miami gets odom they have slim chance of making and cavs with james now and ricky will have a better season then last season BULSS have slim chance
Lamar Odom isn't gonna help Miami win 15 more games (that'd put them at .500). The Cavs had almost their entire starting lineup playing in the summer league games and weren't able to dominate. Knicks still don't have a real, proven center. They won't have much going for them this season.
Uhh...the Knicks won't improve. They got rid of their 2nd best player and got a soft piece of crap known as Keith Van Horn in return. They get worse.
u forgot about dice and what he did in west right . They have 2 good rookies lampe and seetney and frank williams was dominating the summer league they have better chance then bulls
McDyess? Alert me when he is healthy. Lampe is raw. He will contribute, but he wont dominate like you seem to think. Sweetney? He didnt exactly dominate Summer league. And who cares if they dominate summer league. It means jack. I could say the Bulls win win it all this year since they went 6-1 in summer league. Summer league means nothing. Puhhhlease.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Vintage:</div><div class="quote_post"> And who cares if they dominate summer league. It means jack. Look at Bo Oulaw for an example if you dont believe me and Vintage. When has he ever dominated or ran a team?
dice is healthy. If he will play 82 games they have better chance then bulls williams heinrick houston crafword keith rose dice chandler thomas curry bench lampe sweetney
Chicago has a better PG in Crawford. Houston's is all New York's got going for them. Curry and Chandler will rip into NY's front line like no one's business. Last time they played eachother, Curry was too much for Thomas and he fouled out. A healthy McDyess? That'd be nice. How many knee surgeries has he had?
sweetney and lampe is better then chandler he did not prove nothing yet. who is the sf for them if rose plays sg

If summer leagues don't mean anything for an individuals success it shouldn't mean anything for a teams failures either. However, I don't think the Cavs or the Knicks will do better. I still hold firm that the Wizards will be the team to replace the Bucks in the playoffs.
Umm...to whoever asked who the Bulls' SF was, there is a future hall of famer known as Scottie Pippen running that spot once again. C'mon, you should've known that.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting JWillTheFreak:</div><div class="quote_post">sweetney and lampe is better then chandler he did not prove nothing yet. who is the sf for them if rose plays sg</div> This has to be the dumbest comment I've ever heard. Congrats. Not everyone gets to carry that honor. How can Lampe be better than Chandler, since you said Chandler hasn't proven anything. WHAT HAS LAMPE PROVEN?!?!?!?! Wow.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting JWillTheFreak:</div><div class="quote_post">sweetney and lampe is better then chandler he did not prove nothing yet. who is the sf for them if rose plays sg</div> Chandler's accomplishments: 27pts & 18rebs vs. Portland 8pts & 19rebs vs. New York 19pts & 22rebs vs. Denver 21pts & 17rebs @ Philly 16pts & 13rebs vs. Philly 23pts & 14rebs vs. Golden State 16pts & 10rebs @ Orlando 9pts & 12rebs @ Miami 10pts & 11rebs @ San Antonio 13pts & 11rebs vs. Atlanta 13pts & 13rebs vs. New York 7pts & 16rebs vs. Miami Almost all of those came in the 2nd half of the season. He probably would have had more games like those, but had a weird esophogas problem during the last few weeks of the season that limited his minutes and put him on the injured list. Next season, Eddy Curry is likely to be the Bulls' first option. Tyson might not always score in double digits, but I think we'll see a lot of games where he'll rebound in the double digits.
even tho JWILL is worsening my arguement that the Knicks will make the playoffs over the Bulls I still believe this... I dont put my decision on rookies like Sweetney and Lampe but I do believe a losing team in the east will make the playoffs... and even tho the Knicks have lost its arugably best player they will have McDyess, and Allan Houston... and they do still have guys that know how to play... Bulls will be 9th seed... remember these are all predicitions... I could be horribly wrong but we will find out... p friggin s... whoever is gunna make the 8th seed is gunna lose anyways... probably in 4 or 5 games...
