Wow, you guys really do define the average American consumer. Just buy everything that's mainstream, that's right! Bose, Skull Candy, Beats... You all belong to me now.
What does everyone think about Bowers & Wilkins? And Bose? I really don't want to spend serious dough on these, but i'll earn it all back really easy after school.
http://www.colorwarepc.com/default.aspx ^awesome place to buy headphones (or anything) custom colored.
anyways, i'm still on the fence. B&W P5, Bose QuietComfort 15, and Studio Beats By Dre are what i'm looking at. No earbuds. They hurt my (tiny) ears.
I'm serious about the over the ear Beats! I used Sony's and Bose when I used to DJ and these are AMAZING! They sound like they have subwoofers in them, no joke! More then worth the 3 bills!
Sleek Audio SA-6's (or SA-7's which are the new model). These are in-ear earphones (with exchangable silicone inserts, so your tiny delicate ears won't hurt) with a fantastic sound that's also customizable (treble and bass ports can be changed in and out). Pricey, but with removable cables and cheap replacement cables, they last forever. I've used my pair for 2 years now with no issues. Because they're in-ear, they cut out 30+db of external audio. You can listen to your music at half volume in the tunnel on the MAX, and not hear the train noise. Seriously worth the extra cash. http://www.sleek-audio.com/
get these Pioneer HDJ 2000 I have the HDJ-1000 myself, for about 2 years now, they're great, but if you're willing to spend more money (around $300) then get the 2000 version which famous djs use.
I got the Beats. They're dope. Not a fan of noise canceling since it seems way too redundant with over-the-ear headphones. The Beats have killer bass, crystal clear highs, but the mids lack a little bit of punch. I still love em though.
These have great reviews and are on sale right now http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD...=1286839726&sr=8-1&prv=forums&cur=forums&ses=
