So. Very dissapointing, no way I can watch the games now..

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">FSN Southwest has reached a multi-year deal with Houston Regional Sports Network to sub-license the local TV rights to all Astros and Rockets games not selected for broadcast on national television</div>

No turning back from this, it's a contract -- the only way they'll air on regular tv is if the Rockets can reach an agreement with a FOX owned station (UPN 20, FOX 26) which won't happen, because of nationally scheduled programming every day.. I'm extremley mad, but I'm hoping my parents will buy into cable tv, hell, I'd give up cable internet (and counter-strike, HL2, Halo, WC3, D2 [IMG] ) just to watch Rockets games. Atleast I can watch those games on ABC.. I guess this is good news for people close to Houston that can't watch the games, College Station, Waco and the other ones down south. Hmph.. this is gonna suck. The Rockets do have control over the station, as do the Astros, so Bill, Van, Bull, Jeff, and .. I'm sorry to say .. Cooper. [IMG] Good for some people, especially those with FSW..

Thoughts? I'm sure a lot of locals would be mad, but this really does help the Rockets expand, and it's for the better of the team.

I remember that Rockets games used to be on Fox Sports Network years back. This is bad news for locals who don't have cable.

Since the deal apparently was just finalized, I guess that FSN would be broadcasting the games starting tomorrow. We'll see.

for me this is good news cuz ch51 on a big screen gives me bad quality and maybe fsn will be better. but it does suck for those who dont. hope they can find a way to get it back on a local channel so the rockets can get all the support they can even if its over the tv.

Yeah, the quality is poor. But ask them to get rid of the High-Speed Net and get Cable TV

I hope it's televised. On the rockets homepage, it shows it's on NBA league pass. It would suck if FSN (channel 37) didn't broadcast the game.

I tried watching the FSN channel and the game reception was clear compared to the one shown by Channel 51. It happened also that I was able to watch all the NBA games on the other channels preceeding FSN although I did not subscribe to NBA League Pass. Maybe it's another promo of Dish Satellite Network to give a free preview of NBA games. I was just wondering why the commentators are from Memphis side and a lot of advertisements relates to the Grizzlies. Anyway I'm still glad we can watch the Rockets play for the whole season.

What are the "other channels" you're referring to?

When you press the guide button on your Dish remote control you can see NBA league pass channels(channels below FSN) together with FSN. Press one of them and it will show you the other games though it's applicable only on games currently playing still it would be nice to watch other teams play while the Rocket's game is on commercial.

Well I guess I'm one of those people that deserved to get shot, because I don't have cable (don't really like a lot of the stuff they show on there except sports and movies)......I've been watching the rockets for free for over 12 years and now I guess I'll have to break down and get cable...........I listened on the radio last night, that's the first time I've done that in a long time
