Re: If Nawlins Hires Kevin L. Pritchard

The New Orleans ownership and front office is a mess. If they hire KP it would hurt your argument, not help it.

Unless KP is a plant, which is the evil master plan of Paul Allen, Vulcan, and KP!

Yea we will make it look like we fire him...and then get him a GM job at some place where we want their player...yea that's the ticket!

You mean like Portland were when they hired Pritchard? Yep. Bad hire Nawlins.

This has nothing to do with the NO franchise. This would be the merry band of clowns running your team into an iceberg firing the guy who pulled them out of the muck and he ends up at the team with the player they most covet.

So uh, he wouldn't want to come to Portland if we gave up LMA, but he wants to go to the bobcats under ANY circumstances?!?! I mean they would be giving up Wallace. Also how does thankake sense if the goal is cheap young players and salary cap relief?!

if paul wants out of N.O. in favor of winning. . blazers have a lot going for them. . i am hopeful cp3 will land here. . also am i the only one who thinks that the fact cp3 actually stated that he wanted to play with lamarcus and brandon is actually pretty encouraging. . i mean, saying "why would i wanna go to portland if they had to trade la or broy to get me? i wanna play with those guys" is like saying "i wish that trade that almost happened happened"

Yeah I think it's worth throwing the sink at Paul. If we DO offer Oden (would really rather no do that) we better not include Batum. Better would be Batum + Camby + APEC + JPEC + young fellas for Posey + Paul + Okafor. Big cap savings and lots of young talent for NOH.

I also like the Rudy, Bayless and JPEC for Collison and Okafor idea.

    The article said:

Paul is open to a trade. (Duh)

Paul has only a handful of locations he would go. (Duh, Paul has already said he would prefer to stay in NO and build a good team there, but if that can't happen in NO he wants to move to a good team elsewhere. He doesn't want to move for the sake of moving.)

    Paul lives in NC.

The folks in NC are speculating that since Paul lives in NC, then the Bobcats MUST be on Paul's shortlist.

Oops. This is where the story goes off the rail. Paul never said NC was on his list. Paul never said he wants to be closer to home. Paul never said he wants to be swapped for All-Stars so that his new team is just as bad as the old one.

Without a post player, I just don't see how Chris Paul will find his way to Charlotte. Play with LeBron and no post player. Sure, I could see him having been willing to do that. Play with Dwight Howard. Damn straight Paul would go for that. Play with LaMarcus and Oden. I think he strongly considers it.

Does Paul have a player trade clause in his contact or something? Or is everyone assuming Shinn gives two shits what Paul wants?

Seems to me this is Shinn's decision maybe with Chouskey (might have his name wrong the oil rig guy). Really though isn't this about what the NOH brass wants not CP3? Therefore it would stand to reason what they want is cap relief, young talent on good contracts, cash and picks right?

He doesn't have a trade clause. However, he can raise a real shit storm in the media about how he doesn't want to get dumped on that crappy franchise. It wouldn't exactly endear him to the fan base, or help sell tickets, or bode well for him re-signing there when his contract is up.

So Charlotte might be understandably wary of giving up everything to land a superstar, only to see him bolt and humiliate the franchise on his way out. You know, like LeBron and (to a lesser extent) Bosh just did.

That said, I think Charlotte has to seriously consider taking that risk. If they feel they can put some pieces around Paul pretty quickly, it'll be a lot less risky.
