I still think we need to give this team more time before we consider blowing it up. If we were to trade kidd though than LA would be the best destination. Kidd and Collins for Farmar, Ariza, Turiaf, Kwame (expiring contract) and Odom (1 year remaining)...personally I think Farmar and Marcus would be a great PG tandem for this team and they would push eachother for minutes.Turiaf is a hustle player and Ariza reminds me ofa young RJ.

    haha, hi ghoti :-)

But c'mon now, risking injury to play for team USA is a completely different context than sitting out because you want to play for a contender. I agree that the later is inexcusable.

    Seconded.

Kidd might be selfish, but I don't think playing for your national team is a selfish act. I mean, that would imply that players like Kobe Bryant, Tracy McGrady and Carlos Boozer are selfish as well.

No, they are variations on the same theme.

Kidd cares about Kidd, not the Nets.

oh, there's no question it is true, it's the first thing I thought when I read the news last night. This is the guy who everyone claims is the greatest competitor they have ever met. Remember the trainer that helped him rehab after his knee surgery claimed that Kidd had the "willpower" to win a marathon? I've run with my shirt soaked with blood, and after being warned that if I run I could suffer a stress fracture and need surgery. and I have nowhere near his willpower. 1+1=2.

    It's hilarious.

He heard Boone had a migrane and just said "I have a migrane, too!"

    Just like a five-year-old.

Maybe we should have a thread about Boone's willpower, then. lol! [Poor Josh. Since this was publicly revealed, I've often wondered how much his migranes hampered him in college. Did you see him stumble to the bench, looking like crap last night? And people wonder if he really wants to play basketball for a living. He's a good kid who put his team first. Now if he could only develop a jumpshot.]

    Josh Boone really really ****s....

That's why he can not surpass Sean Williams. No matter talents, health, or willpower.

The funny thing is, I actually do think playing for Team USA is admirable. Still, a bunch of those guys probably did it for selfish reasons.

Kidd convinced a whole bunch of the best players in the world that he's still got enough in the tank to lead them to a title. Now EVERYONE wants to play with J-Kidd. That's got to help his perceived value. Funny how directly afterwards, he asks management for an extension. Total coincidence, right?

Lol. Nice theory; I do have to say. A definite possibility, but in a way...can you blame him? I guess you can say it was insurance, in case NJ had another bad year. Smart thinking?
