Speaking of Girardi-- anyone find it curious that he very rarely started baserunners (with less than two outs),
....especially when Jeter was at bat hitting all of those ground balls?

It's a good way (as Billy Martin and OTHER managers have said) of getting a batter to concentrate on making contact instead of flailing away as if they were blindfolded.

Nah, I guess it's no use because that would just be "shifting sh!t around".
Better to just stand pat I guess.

    It's not Girardi's fault, lol..
..after all, a manager needs ALOT OF .300 HITTERS (rolling my eyes) to move runners along and also stay away from ground ball double plays by using hit-and-run plays....
Maybe Girardi should've polled the fans in the front row... nah...it's not his fault. nope, lmao

(Just in case the usual suspects confuse the point - no, I am NOT calling for hit-and-run plays EVERY TIME a runner is on 1b)

lol Nah....Girardi had only "sh1t" to work with...totally incapable of putting a ball in play with the runner/s on the move.
It's too complicated. Why try it. Just keep watching those baserunners collect dust when they get on base. lol

    That's right, that's right ....wow!

As they say in the song:

    Can't touch this

Another strike against stand pat Joe.

2014 All Stars?....Jeter, the other 2 were pitchers. You didn't want Tanaka or Betances running bases. And one can say DJ start was a lifetime achievement award....not the best SS in the AL this year.

Lots of teams have former all stars...most are not performing as such.

...yup, the Yanx' "all stars" combined to put forth a united effort that achieved a .245 .307 .380 .687 line.

For about the 4000th time Tex, Beltran and McCann didn't hit. McCann came on late but if the sluggers did their job all year this team makes the playoffs. It's as simple as that.

He's played a total of 44 games over his last two seasons & now is trying to comeback at age 40 with 2 bad hips. Sorry but I just don't see it happening.

It wouldn't surprise if he can't do it....but can it be possible his "hips" are kinda in better shape from the layoff?
I can envision this 40 (not 43 or 45) year old putting up very decent power numbers while spending a good amount of time at DH.

...if he's not much use at 3B, he's not much use at DH.

...I would think that most teams expect more production out of the DH spot.
