Here's what I've got against him. At his taxation rate, more than half the people pay no income tax and thus have no skin in the game. I think everyone should bitch about their tax going to something they don't like. After all everyone has different ideas on where their tax dollars ought to be spent. That's the American way.
I'll vote for her. Of course I'm not a republican and I don't live in California, but what does that matter any more?
This looks great. I didn't see anything about broadband access, but I think California is already wide open for competition in that regard. I'd vote for this platform if I were in Cali.
I would agree if enough people earned enough to pay taxes... If you're a family making under $250k in California you aren't THAT well off... I could see dropping it to $150k-$200k, but I don't know enough about California to know exactly where that line should be. But the fact that California has a 7.25% sales tax means everybody has some skin in the game.
Yeah they have skin in the game but not income tax skin and a few don't even pay sales tax such as food, rent, utilities, medicine, groceries and so on. Sales tax is for people who have enough money to buy things that get a sales tax. Besides, I'm against sales tax in the first place because it's more regressive.
I agree 100%. I'm just not sure where the line should be... $250k seems high to me as well, but it is in California, which I hear is far more expensive than Oregon.
