Who won the Simmons/Harden trade?

  1. Morey--he was proven right for his refusal to settle

    14.1%
  2. Marks--Nets benefitted greatly from Morey's obsession with all-stars

    47.9%
  3. Both--Blockbuster team made both teams better; they'll probably meet in the playoffs

    16.9%
  4. Neither--Simmons/Harden lack the mentality necessary to elevate a team the way their talent should

    21.1%

huge star in decline and likely wanting a massive contract this summer - well over 200 mil - all one has to look at is Westbrook/Wall to see how their huge deals worked out. Harden is 32, turns 33 iAugust. IMO he does not take care of himself and he's already having lingering injuries as you say. Good luck Philly, you will need it,

Nets absolutely fleeced the Sixers in this deal.
This is a step above the Clippers - Cronin deal.
    But a marginal step.
If I was a Sixers fan I’d not be thrilled.

Winner: Brooklyn - got a great haul. HOWEVER, they are violating the 1-headcase-at-a-time rule with Ben and Kyrie.

Winner: Philly - They showed they are a top EC team, and now they're adding Harden.

Loser: Harden's Reputation - he very much comes off as a fat weasel.

Lol. For all the hate everyone threw at Morey he ends up proven right.

    Harden >>>>>>>>> CJ

It's off-topic, but this trade does impact the Blazers. I fully expect Lillard to be traded this summer and to build around Simons. The Nets got incredible value for Harden, and I think that sets a floor for Dame's value. You don't think we could get at least that for Lillard? I think we could get more.

Morey also broke the first rule of big trades.
Don’t make a trade with a legit competitor in your conference.
This is just so, so dumb on many levels by the Sixers.

I had been suggesting Simmons, Maxey and multiple 1sts for awhile and got shit on about it.

I would take that deal today.

Harden is definitely the superior talent, but he's going to be on a MASSIVE contract, he's aging, and he's a serious cancer.

CJ for all his faults, is not a cancer. I actually think CJ as the lead guard could be very similar to Harden in terms of production.

    Is he?

Or to be more precise, is Harden >>>>>> CJ/Curry?

And if so, how many first round picks better is it? 5?

agree, we would get more but why trade him if they can put a team together in the next year that could compete rather a totally young with at a minimum 3-4 year before they make the playoffs. You can trade Dame next year if the planets aren't lining up but give Chauncey, Dame & Joe at least till next year to try.

Come on. CJ is not even in the same discussion with Harden what is this?
Btw Harden opted in for next season so he gets paid 47M. I prefer personally 47M to Harden compared to 35M for Simmons.
This gives Embiid and the Sixers a real chance to win.

Not to mention the money he will want. They will move Harris now for sure for the right deal.

Couldn't agree more - Seth Curry was the steal of this trade IMO. Philly fans are going to shit bricks when their defense plummets. Offense will win games for them.

I don't think Dame has given the front office that much time.
