On the other hand, the Sennheisers look really big and bulky..

a couple years ago, I bought a pair of noise cancelling headphones from Fry's. They were some non-major brand, and they cost exactly $40. The noise cancelling feature was completely bogus. I already knew the difference, having sampled other higher quality headphones. I was tricked. You put batteries in these ones, and all they do is amplify the existing output. The companies set these prices on purpose, I have learned the hard way. You actually have to spend more money to get what you want. The cheapest ones are complete garbage. Buy a brand that you know and are familiar with, like Sony. Do spend more money. Aim for the second tier of headphones. The cheap ones will just leave you disappointed, and out $40.

I've raised my price range from $30 to $50, but still haven't really found anything online that's blown my mind away.
I never realized how irritating it is to buy shit online, and to find good price/shipping combinations. This is why I never buy stuff online.

I have much more luck with price and convenience online than in a store.</div> I'm really curious, what kind of places do you order headphones online? I'm using google to look up stores that sell the headphones, and I'm nervous about getting involved with sketchy sites that screw you over. How about this site: http://www.jr.com/sennheiser/pe/SEN_HD201/
