It's interesting...all the questions..."can I?....can I?....can I?..." The answer is, in Christ, YES! The fields of Grace are never-ending...and so freeing! God is GOOD!

    You'll do fine....just fine...at that, no doubt.

OTOH, you "may" find Jesus. That's my hope and prayer. :)

I have no control in his decision. Whatever he decides to be is between him and God

As long as they are pledged by an alumni and survive the hazing rituals, sure.

Looks to me like the Quakers are divided on the issue. Not sure why, not many are.
But why do you care? I suspect you come across much you can not accept in the Bible so I take it you have no intention of attempting to be Christian.

    Just a sample,

Leviticus|18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it [is] abomination.

Leviticus|18:23 Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither
shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it [is] confusion.

Leviticus|18:24 Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations
are defiled which I cast out before you:

Many Gay folks accept their fate and live as Christians, I think I even know of a Priest but I do not know for sure, because I am not going to ask
But in the end I don't think you want to be a Christian let alone accept any teachings.
So why stick a thumb in any eye? Heck, what do you want besides a tax break?

Well you are correct that I am not interested in becoming or living as a Christian. It sounds like you think I may be gay, I am not, but I have loved ones who are and I am personally offended by the abuse many LGBT'S (gay) take in our society.

As far as discussing it here, it's a discussion board and I enjoy discussing this, and many other issues. I particularly like that on this board there are plenty people with varied opinions who are willing to discuss issues close to them.

As far as the Leviticus quotes, do you eat shellfish? Do you wear cloth of mixed threads, or do you shave? Do you believe anyone who curses their father or mother should be put to death? Or should adulterers should be put to death? Leviticus talks about slaves being your property.

If you take the anti-gay Leviticus quotes to heart, I assume you also believe in slaves for Christians and death penalty for adulterers.

Shellfish are bad for the gout. No Shave, full beard., Frown on cursing Father and Mother.
But that aside, I am not a Christian, but I prefer to live among the Christians as they are a civil bunch. Jews too. Mags and ABM are Christians and they express their faith and that would be my down fall, I lack the faith and therefore do not qualify. Even though I accept and prefer the
Christian philosophy as a way of life. They are the lucky ones, I can't match their faith but I can admire it.

I spent several years in my youth rousting pirates around the South China Sea. Many were Muslim and other, but a sordid lot they were. Usually the job was to free a captive from greedy buggers. I learned to appreciate the Christian way much more than I had before while I was there. I hate to see it under frivolous attack.

I do not speak for anyone else here, but my intentions are not to attack. My intentions are simply to discuss. Except for one mild post, I stay out of the scripture thread. If you enjoy the Christian way, that is fine by me, but I do take issue with several aspects of Christanity (all religions really) and will continue to broach those topics. Mainly the subjugation of women, the disdain of non-Christians and the repudiation of gay love. Also when there is a God that laid earth at our feet, it tends to bring about actions that everything is for us to deplete. And then I also like discussing the existence of god him/herself.

Of course, LGBT folks can be any faith they want to be. But personally, I don't see why they would want to. I'd rather just be a lesbian atheist humanist.

Probably because they felt the grace of Jesus Christ. It can overcome anyone if you allow it to
