Kaman will absolutely see some minutes for this reason alone. As good as I think this team will be, they will get frazzled. If nothing else, Kaman will be a vet stabilizer to put into games to calm things down and get the offensive flow back. In limited minutes, 12-15 minutes, he will be very valuable.
Kaman was talked about for 6 man of the year over the first 25-30 games last season before injury..he limped into the post season with a bad back. You're only as good as your last game I guess but he's going to be a valuable guy this season for mentoring and building momentum early in games.
What I am saying is when the running and gunning gets out of control and turnovers happen more( I know Kaman is turnover prone too) he will be good to put in there as a low post threat to dump the ball into and slow the game down for a couple minutes to give other guys a breather and regroup. Not saying he is going to innitiate better offensive, just the ability to change the speed when putting him in there will help things at times.
I think he was a positive force last season especially the first half. Hoping for more of the same and a positive vet influence on our unproven players. Vets can be especially important for calming the young guys who think they are world beaters and aren't happy with their lack of playing time.
I don't get why he should not be a point guard. He clearly brought the ball up and ran the offense. Is it just because he was tall? Outside of that I can't see any reason he would be labelled a forward.
