Canzano says KP is under pressure now to do something with Raef's contract. Canzano seems to think it should be used on a big upgrade at SF. What's out there that fits our core? Mike Rice likes Rudy Gay. What about Carmelo? This summer, according to ESPN Insider, KP did talk to Denver about Carmelo but was turned off when they asked for LaMarcus. This tell me KP at least has interest in obtaining Anthony.
Canzano is an idiot if he thinks this injury to GO has any impact upon whether KP decides to make a deal before the deadline or hold on to all of the cap space to make a free agent signing. KP's looking at the long run, not reacting to a minor injury.
A minor injury out of a dozen injuries he's had since HS. It is a problem and it's not a minor problem.
Why do you give one shit what John Canzano thinks? I guess you also wanted to draft Pooh Jeter and Sean May.
Care to list that dozen? Are you including his severe basketball-related tonsil injury? Why would Pritchard be pressured NOW to trade Raef's contract? And if it's because of Greg, why for a small forward? And why would Rudy Gay even be something we could hope for? He's not paid a lot, and he's Memphis's star player. Just because they gave up Gasol doesn't mean they'll do that with young, low-paid players. The OBVIOUS solution is to cut Randolph and re-sign Steven Hill.
Really? Which ones are chronic? Are we worried his tonsils might grow back? It's just been bad luck. If you believe any different, then the onus is on you to prove why these different injuries constitute a trend.
It is except for the fact you guys dont have a middle age superstar bitching. Regardless how your team might do this year it wasnt built for this year. But a big expiring is still a big expiring
I don't think KP has to trade LaFrenz at the trade deadline but I think there is a good chance he will. It depends on which teams are looking to trade and players available for a expiring contract. If the right player is available for LaFrenz and 1 or 2 of our bench players I could see it happening. I'm still thinking Marion but I know most of you don't want him and maybe KP doesn't want Marion either.
That's a great example of a move that became available that was in the best long term interests of the team. If one like that comes along this year (please let there be some fool GM looking to cut a talented player to save money), then I'm sure KP would make the trade in a heartbeat. My only point is that he's going to do whatever is in the best interests of the team's future...not simply react because of some perceived (by Canzano and a few other Chicken Littles) pressure due to GO's minor injury.
DaRizzle has a conflict of interest in this discussion because he'd like to see the Blazers blow their cap space so they don't have room to make a play for Kobe next summer.
I thought of that earlier, how funny it would be to sign Bynum to that fat extension only to see Kobe walk before Bynum pulls a paycheck from it.
Whatever...gives us the room to UPGRADE So did you guys hear about Lebron interested in the Lakers as one of his destinations? I did.
Yeah, I'm sure he'd be interested, but he might have a change of heart when he finds out that if he signs a massive contract with the Lakers he'll have to put up with 5 Laker Girls as teammates since that's all the money Kupchak would have left.
