I guess that is what happens when you're a coach who constantly throws his players under the bus and never takes responsibility when a game plan goes poorly.

Nate's under contract for next season.

Felton is perhaps the worst PG in the NBA right now, and it's time to waive him and just see what Nolan Smith can do for 15 minutes off of the bench.

Jamal Crawford is the starting PG right now. Think about that one, and tell me which coach in the NBA could make that work.

This falls squarely on Chad and Larry. Nate's system and Felton's game -- it was a sinking ship from the beginning.

Canzano will probably get McMillan ousted.

I didn't see that. Canzano is only saying that Felton and Camby aren't playing hard enough.

"Raymond Felton, 1 for 9 against Minnesota, has been awful. He's playing a season-long shooting game named: W-O-R-S-E."

If his goal is to sneak into the 8th seed he is not coming to his senses

What the Blazers should do, is trade some of these assets away to teams who want some help in the playoffs. Camby, Crawford, and Felton have some rental value. I doubt any of them return next year anyway. Of the 3, I wouldn't mind retaining Crawford, but I don't think he'll want to return....

I don't think Felton has any trade value as a rental. He's been that bad. So bad that his close-to-mediocre past performance has probably been washed out entirely. The upside is a close to average point guard...the current reality is a not-NBA-caliber point guard. That's not a bet I expect many teams to take.

Next year, he might be picked up by a team as a deep reserve "bounce back" gamble on a minimum contract.

I like the quote by Crawford about laying it on the line and cheering for your teammates. I really like Crawford. As for Matthews, remember how good he was when Roy went down early last season? What happened?

Players who are merely average in their best seasons have strong collapse risk in any particular year. Blake is a good example, though Matthews is notionally a better defender then Blake.

Yeah, I just looked at his game logs, and I can't find any particular pattern where he was noticebly better earlier in the season and crap now. He has been inconsistent ALL season long. We just didn't notice it as much when we were winning more games.

    No perhaps about Felton.

He is not only the worst starting PG in the NBA - he is the worst big minute player on a non-cellar-dweller team at ANY POSITION.

LOL at Canzano. Since when does what the author thinks someone else is thinking belong in quotation marks? This is Canzano's idea of a quote from a veteran player (i.e. something totally fabricated, but listed in quotation marks).

Horrendous journalism aside, Canzano gives Nate WAY too much credit. The coach has lost his players - that seems to be the whole point of the article. Doesn't the coach deserve at least part of the blame for that?

Unless, of course, this is Canzano's attempt at damning with faint praise - the coach is doing everything he can and the team just isn't responding.

I'm patting myself on the back. I got through this whole thread without clicking on Canzano's article and boosting his ratings.

Regardless of whether or not Nate is the problem, he needs to go. This team just needs a fresh voice so badly.

And you think Bickerstaff is that voice?!?

The Blazers aren't going to bring in someone from outside the franchise mid-season. I'm tired of Nate too but we might as well wait to fire him until the end of the season.
