    that second one is terrible for just LMA, no way I add in Matthews.

    Because he could walk if he wanted to leave money on the table? Because otherwise Jefferson has a 21 PER, puts up 17 and 10 but the big kicker is he can effectively play Center.

    I'd do that one for just Aldridge, not with Wesley though.

    and what does he add? you trade lma if you think somehow he's too old. that doesn't mean then you add a guy a few months older as the centerpiece.

    Personally I am not wanting to trade LMA. But if I was trading him it wouldn't be because I thought he was too old. I would trade him if I thought it would make us better (not saying this deal does specifically) but I couldn't care about matching ages with the rest of the team. You look at all the NBA champions, you are never going to find a team that had its core (top 4 players) all within 3 years of each other.

    I never said anything about age either. But in this deal (just Aldridge) you get back almost the same post production from a center, moving JJ to PF. You get Carroll, a proven backup SF with a 16.4 PER and Burks, a 21 year old who has showed promise and has tons of potential. If we were going to trade Aldridge and no better deal came along, yeah, I'd do that.

    al jefferson? wtf

    if you trade him, you are looking for a player like drummond, expirings, and a top 10 pick

    and its still crap

    My question is whether this is because Olshey feels that trading Aldridge is what's best for the team, or if Aldridge has asked to be traded.

    Edited - if it's actually true.

    You're a total homer if you think LMA is worth George and West.

    I know Mags will love this one:

    LMA for DMC/Jimmer!

    Edit: A three-way to rout LMA elsewhere other than Sacramento/Seattle. He'd waste away his prime there.

    I didn't need to look at all the NBA champions. I only needed to look at one.

    1976-77 Portland Trail Blazers, Top 4 players in terms of both minutes played and points scored:

    Maurice Lucas:
    DOB = 2/18/1952
    Age on 6/5/1977 = 25 years, 3 months, 18 days

    Bill Walton:
    DOB = 11/5/1952
    Age on 6/5/1977 = 24 years, 7 months, 0 days

    Lionel Hollins:
    DOB = 10/19/1953
    Age on 6/5/1977 = 23 years, 7 months, 17 days

    Bobby Gross:
    DOB = 8/3/1953
    Age on 6/5/1977 = 23 years, 10 months, 2 days

    The age difference between the oldest and youngest of the top 4 players on that championship team was 1 year, 8 months and 1 day.

    BNM

    P.S. If you include their 5th starter, Dave Twardzik, who was also 5th on the team in minutes played and points scored, the age difference for the entire starting five was 3 years, 0 month, 29 days.

    If our starting lineup was..

    PG: Damian Lillard
    SG: Paul George
    SF: Nicolas Batum
    PF: J.J. Hickson
    C: Roy Hibbert

    . . .

    You think Indy would rather give up Hibbert more than West? DWest aint no spring chicken, and he's in the last year of his deal too. Plus, where would he play if they had Aldridge?

    Aldridge would be forced to stop being a pussy and call himself a center.

    If I was Indy, I would rather pair Hibbert with Aldridge, but I'm still not even sure Indy would want to trade George for Aldridge.

    He's our best trading piece, a player who is really good but older than the rest of our core and playing a different style than the rest of our core. I'd try to trade big for big (We won't get Marc Gasol obviously, but that should be the kind of player we're after).
