I've been watching the world championship games, Team USA. Billups is the PG.

Lead the nba point guards in scoring? hmmm. Really?(quote from the article) sounds like something one of us would say.

I need to take some time and look at all of the pgs and decide for myself if he is top 5 or top 10. He is either one or the other. He made the Eastern all star team so that has to account for something, however, someone else could argue the fact that there may be a number of pgs out west, had they been playing in the east would have made the all-star team!

Yup. I don't know who's giving Boozer flak for saying it... I'd give him flak for not saying it. But that being said, since I have the unfortunate circumstance of not making the significant digits he does to play for the Bulls, I have the fortunate upside of not having to believe in extremely unlikely goals.

You never cease to amaze me with your ability to see exactly and only what you want to see. Rose is the PG. He's got the ball, he initiates the offense. Billups is the guy off of the ball. It couldn't be any more plain.

That would be true if it weren't Billups who has the ball in his hands most of the time, and who initiates the offense, and Rose not playing near the 3pt line far to his right.

#6 would be Rose, #4 would be Billups. Rose standing by the 3pt line to Billups' right, as I said.

Why is Billups a bad template to look at for Rose?

I was going to post a youtube of highlights of one of the games and say "look at :10 in the video, look at :20 in the video, etc." and the picture is the same (Billups at point).

Billups needs to run the point. Why defer to someone that has just been in the NBA for two years? This is the big scene we are talking about. Chaucey's experience is needed.

I can't say I agree with your assessment Denny. I've seen all the games too besides Angola, not that that means anything. Rose is playing point and Billups is trying to play off the ball (and failing). The problem with Billups is that shooting guard's actually have a unique skill set, and his game really doesn't translate. When it's Billups turn to score -- and he does seem to call his own shots at the relatively appropriate times -- Rose passes the Ball, everybody camps out, and Billups goes to work off the dribble. But that's because Billups isn't used to shooting off screens, not because he is the primary point guard or ball handler for that matter.

That's why he's playing next to Rose. If there's a problem, Billups can handle the offense. So far, he hasn't been needed in that capacity. In fact, they were talking about benching him a few games ago because his shot hasn't been falling and Rose is doing the job.
