^^ Vince was the franchise player for the Raptors for 6 years and made basketball relevant in Canada. Zo was on the downside of his career when he signed with the Nets as a free agent and was already past his prime. Two different scenarios. This thread has deviated entirely from the point at hand. Some of the posts are ludicrous - just because Chutney alleges he doesn't think about Carter, doesn't speak to the fans that still either hate on Vince or want Vince back on the Raptors because the team has a huge hole at the 2/3 position. (and I'm not saying the hate isn't justified - he demanded a trade from their team. It does seem like a stab in the back - Net fans know this). The article was horribly written, what the focus should have been on was the fact that Carter has never led his team past the 2nd round of the playoffs. That is indisputable evidence. For every game winner he has shot during the regular season, I can point out a 4th quarter play he has choked on in the playoffs. That to me, is why Carter can be deemed to be a "loser". This sounds simplistic but you are absolutely a loser until you win. That is what separates players with similar skillsets like the Kobe, Wades and LeBron's of the world to the McGrady, Carter, and Carmelos. That is what separated Adrian Dantley and Dominique Wilkins from Clyde Drexler and Michael Jordan. No matter what way you spin it, unless he wins the big one or leads his team deep into the playoffs, Vince will forever be remembered as only a good player in his heyday, never a great one.
So, what I understand is if Toronto fans boo VC, it's because they plan it out? Man, VC is on the downside of his career. I don't know what you expect out of the dude. The guy simply cannot play the game of basketball. He is selfish, he doesn't play for the team and most of all, he lost all his excitement. The guy plays on a team with a guy who smokes weed, a guy who stole a laptop and some guy every Asian fan loves in Yi. The only upside to the Nets is CDR and Brook, if the guy can ever make a proper face for a picture. Vincent Lamar Carter is the most over-paid athlete with amazing skill who will refuse to use it because he's a baby. The guy needs to suck it up.

purplehaze, I will gladly tell you how Vince Carter is not as great as you may think. Also, that while you live in a fantasy world where you think every Toronto fan has some deep hatred for Carter, it's not true. I have a strong OPINION on Vince Carter. Stop acting like a fool man.

My main point, for all you Carter lovers, is that he is not a legitimate threat or superstar in this league. The guy is getting worse and he just doesn't have enough will power to play, with the Nets. He lost the best PG he's ever played with and a great teammate in Kidd and RJ. Now, he's in a bad situation where he should be traded, but no one wants his ugly contract. The guys is almost done.
