I think the real reason why Vince has disappeared because he just didn't like his situation in Toronto. He didn't think the team would get anywhere far in the playoffs and he sort of gave up. And I think Vince is the type of person who doesn't keen on taking a leadership role. Now, with Jason Kidd and RJ on the Nets taking off his pressure as a leader, and with the team in the unpredictable but basically still weak East, anything can happen. I think we will see Vince being motivated and coming out ready to play every night for them.

And to InNETSweTrust, I have an idea for your new sig VC: "The Only Ressurected Raptor From 65 Million Years Ago" with that Jurassic Park movie's wicked crystallized mosquito as the background and some Nets colors. [IMG]

All I can say is wow.....I've been a Nets fan, but until today I was not such an interested one, however, I am going to buckle my seat belts and watch what will transpire from this.

People are complaining about the lack of inside presense that the Nets have, and I am not surprised. However, I believe that the Nets' big fellas are underrated, especcially Scalabine. Collins is consistent and Kristic has tremendous potential. I would assume that the Nets will pick up some big men from the NDBL to fill some gaps.

The only concern I have is what the Nets will do with Buford, Mercer, and the newly developed Guard log-jam.

All in all, I think that the Nets are going to be able to mak e a serious and valid attempt to get into the playoffs. This of course depends on whether Carter can get healthy and remain healthy.

p.s. I have been a Carter hater for a rather long time, so now I am giving him a second chance to raise his reputation in my mind [IMG] .

i think alot of you guys have it wrong

    THIS IS NOT RJ'S TEAM.
    IT'S NOT VINCE CARTERS TEAM

Its Jason Kidds team and those 2, knowing their personalities will work together fine and really gel under Kidds leadership.

And you guys are nuts complaining about how weak your big men are. I mean sure you lost Zo, but he couldnt play many minutes anyways. You got a 22-5-5 player for 2 picks, a 15min per game Zo with really bad kidney problems that might lead to an early exit from the season for good, a guy that doest play(Awilliams) and a average player in Eric Williams.

This is the most lobsidded deal i have seen to date. As a raptors fan i'm relieved that the rumours can actually end and we can start actually rebuilding. But i'm very sad that Vince is gone....he's still my favorite player and i know he's gunna prove alot of people wrong and take this team to a new level.

I'm not a bandwagon jumper...but i'm now a Nets fan.....i was always a Vince fan, he's what made me like the Raptors, so now he's whats made me a Net fan. Nets are gunna be sick good when Kidds 100%

    Do you watch Nets game?????

The Nets have no interior without Zo, perfect example was tonight's game vs the Grizzlies, they got own on the backboards and gave up two key offensive rebound in late stages of the 4th. And offensively everything for Jersey stayed out on the perimeter besides an occassional slashing basket or two. A yeah Zo only played 20 minutes a game but he was a much needed pressence for a 20, he gave the Nets a legitimate player to throw the ball to in the post in key situations and alot of times(even tho he isnt the same finisher that he was in Miami) he would either finish down low or at least get to the line. And that is just his impact on offense not to mention at 35 years-old he is still by far the best post dender and weakside shot blocker on the team. A 10ppg & 8rbg & over 2bpg Center in this league is still extremely hard to come by...so no matter Zo's condition, he is still a hard loss. The Nets are going to struggle on the boards, have no low post option offensively. And have no pressence to change shots & deter penetration. Zo is easly still a top Center in the East.

And the Nets have clearly became Richard Jefferson's team, everything in the halfcourt most nights runs thru him especially in big spots. Even when Kidd returns to full strenght, he wont carry the type of load he once carried, he'll be a 35mpg player at most. Dont get me wrong Kidd is still & aways be a crtical component of the Nets, while he is wearing our Jersey, cause he is the floor general. But to quote Rod Thorn "The Nets have made the shift toward Richard Jefferson, he is the guy we look to carry us every night".

it's not important that whom the nets belong to. I just want to see the nets win. Who can help the team to win, is the leading role. team cooperation is the most imporant, like Pistons.

I am not as high with Alonzo than some other Nets fans. He started to become bitter and whiney and am glad to see him go. My memories of Zo will always be with the Hornets and Miami, not NJ. He didn't get back on defense and turn the ball over too much; way too inconsistent. He still had fire but he obviously isnt a 1/5th of what he was.

The Nets can survive with Twin at the C and Veal at the PF. Veal is no KMart but Kittles is no Carter either. So basically they lost rebounding but gained scoring and assists. I'm dreading the days wherein they'll be facing teams with dominant big men but I've always dreaded those days even before when we still had KMart and Zo. It was obvious that we're not going anywhere farther than 8th seed in the East with Zo and the Williams' so might as well go some notches up, get an all-star who can sell seats, someone who can hit the J, and someone to give Kidd some assists.

I'm not a VC fan but I'm glad to have him on board. I love what Zo brings to the table but I'm not really sure if he'll last for more than one season. The Nets are looking into the future so might as well tow VC instead of Zo.

If you're a die hard Nets fan like me, you'd wince everytime you see a half empty arena. With VC, that won't be too much of a problem.

A lot of people are saying that VC is an injury waiting to happen, but so is Zo.

Some people are saying that RJ and VC are playing the same position. VC can play the two guard. He's been settling for those outside J's instead of taking it to the rack. With RJ the one taking it into the rack, that would minimize the effects.

I think that he might be eligible for the Clevland game on the 22nd, however I would play it safe and get tix to the 30th against Indiana.
