Williams was an issue in Utah. He wanted out and had problems with the coaching staff, etc. I see no ill will from Aldridge. Assuming that he will demand a trade, with no "red flags" that he's even thinking this way seems a bit premature.

If Paul Allen could stomach a season of tanking,

    Tristan Thompson
    Cleveland's pick this year
    Memphis pick

    for

    LA
    Joel Freeland

    would work for me.

Free agency this year does not look very promising. Rolling over that cap room another year would possibly land a legit #1 (Lillard might be one, but LA and Batum are 2's at best). The step down to Thompson is not that huge and we would have serious money to play with this year and next.

Dont think that is the route we go though.

There is no one on Cleveland save Irving I'm interested in. The pick this year is meh and if we trade la there pick next year will probably not even be a lottery pick. Waiters looks more like monte then harden and tristan thomas seems like another kris humphries.

If Utah was smart to trade Williams a year before he would have an expiring contract, wouldn't next summer be similar in regards to LMA?

Moving Aldridge for picks and someone like Thompson will hurt Lillard's development, IMO. We'll have nobody to take pressure off of him.

We could get Soup Juggler and some picks, then do something crazy like signing Paul Milsap and Dalembert.

It all depends on Aldridge next season. Does he come back as LaMonster? When he's on, and Lillard is on, I like our chances against any team in the league. We just need a few support players. If we're going to reset and trade Aldridge, it has to be for someone amazing. Not just a few good players.

I'm anxious to see what Olshey has planned for this summer.

It's funny, all the reasons why CLE wants LA, we want to keep him. Makes very little sense for us, especially considering how they have so few assets. If we're gonna do a true salary dump, I want high level prospects, not Dion Waiters and draft picks in a very weak draft.

I'd look at Orlando as mentioned above. If they can give us Vucevic, Harris, and a pick, I'd do that today.

Horrible idea, but what if this happened? Do what i mentioned above, draft Otto Porter, and trade Batum for a guy like Pek or another center?

    Lillard
    Soup Juggler
    Porter
    Milsap/Smith
    Pek/Good center

That team wins less games then this years team and soup juggler gets turned into the new JR Rider by the oregonian and local media. Good news is we'd be set for sucking so badly we get top 5 picks for a few yeara

Refresh my memory. Why the heck do they call him "soup juggler?" Is it because of his last name?

On the plus side, we'd be in the running for Wiggins!

That's a 20 win team. We want to move our rebuilding team's development forward, not backwards.

That's the problem, the draft is so weak that it's a horrible horrible trade. If the draft was stronger, a top three pick and other talent wouldn't be horrible value for Aldridge. Or if Noel wasn't JUST coming off a huge injury.

But do you think it would be worth it to suck one more year for Wiggins?

My only concern is, many thought it'd be worth it to suck really bad this season for Shabazz. A few years back, many thought it'd be worth it to suck really bad for Harrison Barnes.

No. Even if we have the worst record next year with that team, we have a 75% chance of not getting him in the draft. Wiggins is per my estimation, the closest thing to being the next Lebron. But it's not worth blowing up our whole rebuild for just a chance at the guy. Too much risk involved, both in us possibly not get him, or him becoming a bust.

WAIT I thought since Minny offered a restricted agent and we matched; they can't trade for him until after their offer time?

Hmm, you might be right. Scratch that idea.
